One of the nicest Llewellyns I’ve seen.
Hand built Llewellyn Columbus Road Bike made in Brisbane Australia | eBay
But I don’t think it’ll sell at the asking price.

Yeah probably not,
But it would have cost a packet.
Note to all custom bikes are for lyf
$5999 or $2751?
2751 is the saving, not an asking price. Doubt very much this will sell for the asking price.
^ Oops…must read description properly, must read…
Agreed, stunning bike. That green is quite something. But who needs another eh snowflake?
do not want.
With all due respect to the skill, detail and patience required in building a frame, some of those prices for parts make me think that Darrell is seriously taking the piss.
And why do you drop $8700 on a bike and ride it 500km in 5 years?
So it’s the owners fault for having a serious illness?
No, its the owners fault for shelling out that much money in the first place. Honestly do the maths.
That group + carbon fork + cockpit parts. That leaves 1 frame to be built by Darryl.
I still think his early simple stuff is nicer.
I agree dan his prices are mental but as long as people keep paying it he will keep charging it.
Remember though, not everyone has the time (or inclination) to get online and source a bunch of parts to build a bike. Then you have to get a bloke to build the wheels, and get the bike built (assuming, again, that the buyer neither has time, inclination, or skill, to do so him/herself).
So they go into a LBS and pay retail.
But then, there’s the corporates who make 250+ k p/a for who these are merely toys; so they go an get 10K colnagos, de rosas, etc, or a custom like Baum or Llewy. You see them fat blokes cruising beach road every sat/sunday morning.
When you’re real hobby is racing cars or something ridonkulously expensive, and you’re earning big coin, dropping 8-12K on a bike is piss all. Spending 160 bucks or 90 bucks on a pair of GP4000s means fck all to some people. So the buyer might have been able to build it for 3500 (frame) plus, say 2500 in parts (noting that it was built in 2007 when the exchange rate was probably not as good as now, access to online parts wasn’t as good etc). For an extra 2K with zero effort when you’ve got more cash that you know what to do with (hookers and cocaine aside) isn’t much.
People don’t buy custom hand brazed frames with full Record because they want a bargain.
I don’t need any more. But most of the Llewellyns I’ve seen are a bit overdone. This one’s a bit more…down to earth I guess. Like mine
