is that a supported ride?
Remake The Warriors with various fixed gear bicycle/hipster gangs and our heros have to complete the Melburn Roubaix.
Bonus points if the cast ride or trackstand (i.e. no footdowns) their way through the movie.
i’m going to start another thread, to avoid further derailment.

at this point, i’d like to re-state my idea for a movie that features track bikes but that also has a story. last time i suggested a romantic comedy. in light of the current spate of EPIQ track bike journey movies, this time i’d like to suggest a road movie. like, a down-and-out cab driver (possibly with lots of conspiracy theories… oh… wait a minute…) loses his/her license and then becomes a bike messenger. because of his/her encyclopaedic knowledge of the streets s/he becomes known as the fastest messenger in town. so then s/he is summoned by Fat Alphonse, a mafia don, who needs some ‘documents’ transported across state lines with a minimum of fuss. hilarious hijinks and some gnarly hill montages ensue…
edit: earlier ideas here http://fixed.org.au/forums/index.php/topic,6415.15.html

You just got home when you made this post!?
i didn’t really think about the distance between london and paris and the fact that they’d be getting alternative transport across the channel until i got to the pub last night. then i realised it isn’t really that far (not that i could do it)
not sure if it was worth filming to be honest. i still enjoyed parts of it however
wasn’t gyspy and LAM’s effort 1000 times more impressive?
although the london to paris guys didn’t wear helmets, that was ‘impressive’…

then i realised it isn’t really that far (not that i could do it)
no, the point is you could. one of those schlubs from the fat people show on tv could’ve done it.

hahaha i’d definitely watch the biggest loser if they made them ride from london to paris on a fixed gear bike.
perhaps i should’ve said that i couldn’t do it in the time they managed it in.
but thanks for believing in me brendan

Worst part was seeing some of them in their full Livestrong regalia. Never thought hipsters could be saddle sniffers too.
