looking for some recommended headphones

I’ve got the Bose QR15 and rekon theyre great for flying.
Always have trouble sleeping on a plane. Got them on the way back from euro during the year and just wore them turned on during the flight back - slept quite a bit:). Find them really comfortable, battery life is great as well.

yes

I bought some Bose QC15s about six months ago. I would recommend them, highly. Most of the time I don’t even listen to music, I just put them on while reading on the plane. In my experience, the sound quality is far better than that delivered by the Beats By Dre ones.

I’ve had a go of some Bose ones, they’re killer. I’ve also never gone wrong with Sennheisers, though I’ve never used their noise-cancellers. One of the benefits of Sennheisers is they keep a full catalogue of replacement parts, as noted by Alex1234b. I just replaced the ear and headband pads on my px200s after many many years of use, they still sound as fresh as a daisy.

i have these for work, they’re great. they’re open, so you’ll hear a bit of ambient noise. but they sound better than more expensive closed/cancelling ones i’ve tried.

I thinkthe build quality of sennheisers is going downhill - I have 2 x pairs break and a colleague has had 1 pair break in the past 18 months or so. We still use their pro-level headphones at work which are super comfy and great sound, but I think their active/portable/mp3 style headphones are pretty crap.

I have had my Sony MDRZX600B since my sennheisers broke and they have been great.

My 2 pairs are both at least 7 years old. Maybe there’s a market for vintage Sennheiser, before they went mainstream.

I’m leaning towards the Bose. Having complete noise cancelling headphones on a plane is amazing, even with no music.

David Jones has 15% off headphones today, so I might look at the Bose ones there again.

Checked out the Bose ones again today (QC15). They’re the same price as the Beats, but all the reviews are better, plus I don’t need bangin’ bass in my headphones, which apparently the Beats are really good at. Getting them with 15% off tomorrow.

go here Headphonic | Australian Headphone Specialists: Buy Etymotic, Alessandro, Audio Technica, Ultimate Ears, Talisman, Meier Audio and more

i’ve bought stuff from these guys. fast postage and there were no issues with my returning some headphones that fucked-out on my after a few months.

These are definitely noise cancelling. Have been on 3 trips to Europe with them.
Kills nearly all of the jet noise.

No Bose, but that’s all good. My wife wants to get them from Myer (who will price match David Jones) so she gets the Myer One points and she also has a gift card she needs to use.

+1 for Headphonic.
I have a pair of BeyerDynamic DT235’s that i use at work. Closed cans that sound pretty nice.

Whoa.

Checkout the Audiofly AF78s if you are into buds. Dual driver/balanced armature, same as the AKG K3003 ($1300) except these are $200, sound amazing and are designed right here in Aus.

These are very noise isolating though, good for planes, not so good for hearing cars trying to overtake you on a roundabout.
