track bike on the warby trail for dayzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
so. fucking. in
anyone too pussy to ride their tarck bike can ride my sweet rockhopper.
so what day is this anyway, and what is this cup you’re all talking about?
This still on the cards for next Tuesday?
yeeeeooop!
i’ll have a look at the train timetable or those who want to rail it out there.
No doubt I am attending. Hey Erle, if you are coming, if you bring that Chokehold shirt, i will bring you the food that you tell me to bring in exchange. it will be good.
in, pending ability to ride a bike for any reasonable period of time by next week.
here’s hoping today’s physio works a treat.
in, will be railing it out there too
I would be in but I have to present my thesis. Terrible Melbourne Uni scheduling.
who works on the Monday before the cup…
<----- this guy.
as above. will be in this but missing MMM2.
Ok, I THINK I can make it.
Pretty excited about this. I’m gonna rail out there also.
Can we get there from Dennis station trigonometry?
I might actually ride out t get sweet ks in my legs. Anyone keen?
looks like there’s a train that leaves flinders street at 8:15, which would get us to lillydale at 9:10.
so, 8am meetup at fed square. ride from lillydale to cog for coffee (i’ll check if it’s open) then out to warburton. have some lunch then roll back.
last time i did this i did it on a track bike with 25 tyres and apart from my knee fucking out on me towards the end it was totally fine.
love ya work.
i’ll be doing this on the tarck bike if the weather’s nice. piece of piss
someone should check the timetable. i’m horrible at reading those things.
you can but ill laugh at you for catching the train into the city only to have to catch it out again on a different line, saving yourself ~7km of riding on an 80km day.
i’m in… and will be using victorias finest rail system to get out. theres some fun little trails off the side of the main trail. ill have to remember where they are if damo or matt b dont come ![]()
i like the timing… it usually takes 2-2.5hrs to get there and effing about at cog while people decide to get last minute fockerchias adds a while. it ‘might’ be worth hitting up coles @ lilydale for supplies as warby can be a bit sparse for the diet-challenged.
there will be a mix of abilities on the ride and having to rally back to beat the setting sun can put a dampener on the day (especially if that involves that loooong hill to cog).
every chance the trains will be running on a sunday/public holiday timetable
edit - nik, i was more asking if the outbound train went through dennis on the way to lilydale. i hadn’t even thought of training it into flinders st from dennis! haha
according to their website cog will be closed. i’ll call to confirm though.
