After researching online I still can’t decide. Can users out there help me make a decision, I wanna get this bike happening.
These are the 2 cheaper options apart from going non stock standard or using BMX cranks.
Sugino 75 - Bigger choice of chain rings to fit, variety of colours but kinda bulky looking.
Miche - Non standard fittings but look sleaker.
I believe sugino 75s rate much higher by the general fixed gear community than Miche. I’ve never used these cranks so I can’t say from personal experience. But I do have some 30 year old Sugino Mighty cranks that work great for me.
With the Miche you can go for smaller chainrings due to the smaller BCD if you wish.
Sugino 75’s anyday, got a set on the way for my new beast. Miche make good rear cogs and carriers but I just don’t like the non standard BCD sizing of the cranks, 144 all the way. If you want cheap Sugino, try looking for Sugino XD (i remember getting a set for $100 AUD), 110 BCD which you’ll be able to use BMX chain-rings.
Sugino sounds like the way to go.
Has anyone ever bought bike parts from King Kog? The appear to have the black 75’s in stock and factoring in currency conversion and delivery they seem to be cheaper overseas than any price I’ve found in oz stores.
I prefer to support my LBS where I can. If its a mater of hundreds of dollars, that can be a different story, but saving $5 here and there, get your mates to source the bits and put them on in their shop.
If we all bought all our parts from OS, we wouldn’t have any bike shops left!!

King Kog have 75s for USD180. I think they’re ~AUD400 here so it’s probably a significant saving.
