and if you ask me, from my experience, the fly12 sport is fine. i have no experience with the fly 6 pro. but every fly6 i had failed due to water ingress. i recommend the garmin varia rct715 for the rear
The garmin front was crap?
I think I remember you being unimpressed.
The bad:
Camera at 1440 wasn’t any good so you had to run it at 4k, which killed battery life
Light is too focused, so you would need to run another light
Requires a new mount
Expensive
The good:
Integrates well with the rear radar
New Mount is good
Would I buy one? No. Hence I have the fly 12 sport
Mine two Fly6’s died with battery. Just didn’t seem to handle the below-zero temps. The cheap-arse Aldi cameras were actually a decent competitor, shame about the battery run-time.
My RCT715 is… “OK”, the compression (regardless of resolution) can make it hard to pull out a rego plate at times.
yeah it’s not the greatest. combine that with a Fly12, and yelling out the rego, I have a high success rate of getting the rego.
And the RCT715 is still the only combined rear light, camera and radar all in one
I reckon I’m unlucky - 99% of the time, they are too far away by the time I try and read the rego. I should practise more.
Well said! ![]()
Yeah pretty close from the front camera! ![]()
Yeah Jason that is very obnoxious and dangerous driving.
Presumably out at Brookfield somewhere.
It just reinforces my impressions of people who drive Ford Rangers with those dorky oversize tyres.
An epidemic in our times unfortunately.
