one of the great things about going to the 9 speed on my coppi is i can now use modern wheels easy way to lose 600-700g which is heaps on any bike…
yeah, as cool as 70’s super record is, when it comes down to it its heavy, sucks and would be a shame to destroy due to actual riding, 11sp it is:p
the wheels should come to ~1550g so not that light(but light enough for me), as the rims actually weigh 380g each (not 340g…silly italians:D), and comp spokes are heavy, but the only spokes that are readily available in the lengths needed for such low profile rims.
i;m running mid 90s 9 speed chorus which is a tad heaver than the record ti of the same time with the same internals so the only difference is the ti hardware
and i’m using vento wheels which are 2.2kg wheels…
tiz a light frame set though 1650g for the frame and 650g for the forks…
as i said i can light it up with a light set of wheels pretty good…

This frame is 130mm anyway, innit? why put old stuff on a new frame?
I’ll go out on a limb and say your 11sp campy kit will be rendered useless before you could have made any impact on super record kit.

Nice work man, the only thing that’s nicer than the way Campy packages their components are the little red bags that come with the Sram Red stuff. Spoke to Rocky yesterday, turns out my CX-1 is still on a boat at the docks and hasn’t been unloaded yet…which actually works in his favour, because he was more than happy to let me change my order to a matte black EPS =D
