New Buyer's Guide.

Hi All,

How much would I be looking to pay on seconhand a Masi speciale? its in pretty good condition and a couple of years old. friend of mine is selling one… not sure what it should be costing me?

theres some new on the internets for $700-900… so like $400?

thanks in advance

^ @ lachlangreed stripped bearings suck to ride on… the complete opposite of smooth. But if quando is all you can afford and you dont mind repacking them often they can be ok (but ‘ok’ is very subjective!). My advice is to save up for sealed bearings if you can. velocity/formula have served me well.

He means the fixed thread on the hubs strips easily. Search and ye shall find.

is anyone else here shaking there heads? or is it just me?

'scuse me?

and while you were busy flaming you couldnt share you opinions on my question?

any help would be appreciated…

Although I assume the majority of posters here are youngsters.

buy NJS kiddies! EN JAY ESS!

and quandos have to strip because they didn’t finish school!

adrian, masis tend to keep value relatively well because of their (somewhat now undeserved) name
but since it’s a few years old, second hand, 400-500 seems about right (to me at least)

ahaha. gold.

Masi’s are a good fixie. Thats all I rationally can contribute. Maybe no one knows the prices and such or am I just being a bit bitchy?

EDIT- Sorry, didn’t see the last 2 posts. Being bitchy now.

I really don’t understand the point of posts like this… Why bother? Maybe to feed some feeling of self importance? Just not constructive at all.

fkn glad it wasn’t just me

Isaac is quite the expert these days.

hahah guilty as charged.

I opened my wheelset today (YAY) and tried to put the front wheel on the fork. The fork is just a bit short to be put on the wheelset. Dad and i tried to squeeze it in but that didn’t work. Is their anyway around this?
PS. Rear wheel is fine and awesome!

^ Isaac do you mean the width of the fork (distance between the forkends) is less than the width of the axle?
Are there any spacers on the axle that can be removed?
Use a tape measure on both…measure the internal distance between the forkends and the external distance of the axle.

Let us know what you get

I stretched my forks once to fit them onto the axle…

Yes. I’ll do that tommorow. I think it’s just 2 to 5 mm off.

I squished the rear stays because i didnt have spacers to put on the rear axle once (on another bike)… lol

Ha, I think I half did that to mine. Either the rear is tight fitting (like skinny jeans) or a tad undersize. Look’s sick though. I’m not sure about the fork though in both colour and size.
