newbie building a fixie!

hello guys,

cheers

or even easier…

www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed/index.html

google can help you build bombs, makeshift sex toys, give you directions to the best pizza joint in town and even see your house in satellite view… im sure it can show you how to build a fixie just buy clicking one button.

agree!!

check the post your ride section for ideas.

here’s a good start

That’s more than likley what this guy has done ,asked google, and he came up with this forum :?

Go figure …he asked a fixie forum on how to build a fixie …yet the forum tells him to go to google

I think the point is that this question gets asked a couple times a week. It’s been answered in these forums plenty of times. ALL the answers you will EVER need are on sheldon’s site. As well as a million sites with detailed builds out there. So yeh, google, sheldon and the search function are your friend.

Perhaps the mods or someone could make a thread with some handy links any new rider wanting to build a fixie would need. I suppose that could stop the frequent, repetative questions.

That assumes that the people who ask these questions would actually read that first.

does anyone know any frame builder in Melbourne? I might need to repair my frame; a bit bent near the drop off…

thanks

Damien at Cog Café in Mt Evelyn. Super nice guy and very good at what he does

yea, I tried to call them but found out that they open only on weekends? I’ll go to Moorabbin to get my frame powder-coated, and might ask them if they could do it… :?
thanks anyway

+1 to A-Class

Satisfied with the job they did to my frame…
Awsome!!

Get yourself an old roadie that fits you with horizontal drops, get rid of the other cog or cogs on the front sprocket and everything to do with gears, cut your jeans to shorts. Fixie rider in seconds just dont ever stop pedaling so people think its actually a fixed gear.

too late, very helpful though…
I just had my frame powdercoated…
any idea how to put the head badge on using rivets? (was removed when powder coating it)…
