Slowly getting there. Waiting on some headset spacers (I need 90mm!) to come in the mail, as well as some Sheldon fender nuts.
Quickly assessed the guard situation tonight, looks as though the rear will need some modifying to fit around the curvaceous seat stays.
Has anyone successfully ‘dimpled’ plastic fenders after heating them up? Failing that might need to get the dremel out. They’re these guards if it makes a difference - https://bbbcycling.com/au_en/bfd-40-cityguard

Have had to take a Dremel to mine in the past.
Pretty sure I’ve got some spare plastic 20" front fenders in the shed if you need them.
hi mate, hows this going?
i may or may not have picked up a mini so have needing to pick a brain!
Embarrassingly I must admit it’s still hanging up in the garage as it was in the last photo!
Working from home and a change in job that wasn’t commute/train friendly put an end to the enthusiasm and need. Although I’ve just changed jobs again that’s only 16ks from home so I might have to pull my finger out and finally get it finished.
What did you want to know? I might have retained some information
wheels! what size cassette can you get? best place to get em?
i have some spare 9 and 10 spd shifters and derailleurs id like to use, but not sure where to source em? assuming hub spacing rules are the same?!
Our Lord and saviour AliExpress is where I got my mine, store name is Java Giant Fouriers Tsunami Bike store.
As far as I’m aware hub spacing should be the same between mini velo and road, 130mm for rim brake and 135mm for disc and typically use 11 speed hubs which will come with the spacer to use anything less(or at least mine did).
There are two 20 inch sizes, 451 and 406. 451 is the mini velo “standard” and are measured in metric like road tyres, but this limits you somewhat on tyre selection, in Australia at least. 406 is the BMX “standard” which opens up tyre selection a bunch depending on the frame clearances, these tyres seem to be measured in imperial much like MTB/650b etc.
The frame I have was designed around the larger 451 standard but I was able to use 406 wheels by using long drop calipers.
