Polly's new fopmobile

and then you met mckenny on the warby trail!

what a time to be alive that was.

Yup, we were loling about that the other day. I had hair down to my ass and was wearing a morbid angel shirt. I go up to him and say, “hey man, I’m HMC on the forum” and he looks me up and down and goes “no shit.”

Sounds about right.

Looks shit hot for a marketing gimmick. I’m with the others though: would ride wouldn’t buy.

I’ll sell my Mongoose IBOC for a carton of something decent. It has 7 speeds and two brakes!

I had the same first thought. Except Keith nailed it with zero fuss and class to the roof.

This.

Although I feel my incoming colossi will be almost as ridiculous as this when it comes to commuters…

One of my favourite bikes evah.

Meh, I’ve lost a lot of respect for prolly. I mean good on him for making a successful business out of his blog. But I feel like its just a massive circle jerk of him and all his hand made in America mates. The content is totally disconnected from reality… It’s cool to post high end bikes, but the article has no perspective. As if spending 20 times what a fairdale coaster or transition klunker costs is actually reasonable.

I mean he fucking zip tied the pannier to the shitty excuse for a rack, and then actually tried to suggest that was a good solution. Single sided front bags are a disaster waiting to happen.

I’d totally ride it though.

Is it bad for pannier feng shui? Too much yang, not enough ying? Wabi sabi brah

I find it funny that the pannier holds a ulock, sunnies and a patch repair kit. So, stuff you could fit in your pockets (ulock in belt).

I’ve spent about 30-40 hours on that bike and it is serious fun. 650b Hetres are the business.

Hetre’s gonna Het.

Would ride.

10/10

^ Aw, come on: http://www.fixed.org.au/forums/showthread.php?t=22374&p=612993&viewfull=1#post612993

Shit. Sorry. 10/10 for you too then.

Also, would much prefer this than the the other thing.

My $0.02?
At least it’s built by bike people. It is outrageously expensive, but who remembers that silly LV Polo Bike? Or those ridiculous Hermes townies? Would I buy one? Hell no. Would I put that money into a Kumo or Firefly or Baum townie? Probably not - but they’re better options by a MILE. In so many ways I don’t see what’s special about it. Coaster brake? So what? Dyno lights? Why do I care in suburbia? Front zip-tieable rack thingy? That’s what a jersey or jacket is for. 2 speeds? Um, I already have two legs so I can modulate my speed just fine. I see no real advantage of this over my Colossi. Or Steph’s Mixte (Steph’s Mixte is f*****g ace).

It’s for artisan toast mate.

Do I need to remind everyone about this?
