Yeah I agree, and they’re ugly blacktop knobs that belong on amps. It’ll probably end up with just a volume control. And I’ve got some EVH pickups that need a home too. Should be a fun project.

i was looking for a s/h budget set of 700c wheels for gravel grinding, and ended up buying an old mtb on ebay for the same price. was pleasantly suprised when i picked it up, spare new front wheel, 2 extra near new knobby tyres, and everything worked perfectly. just flipped the stem and took off the bar ends, put on my new trelock front light and back light and it’s ready to go. one of my better ebay purchases.
i wouldn’t mind a rigid fork, but i’ll just ride it for a bit, i haven’t owned a mountain bike almost since this one was new, it reminds me of riding to school.
Sweet. Looks like a blast. Bar ends suit it though, and can actually be pretty handy. (get it).
they are not cool though! if i’m doing enough climbing to need them, i probably need a better/lighter bike

Bar ends actually come in handy on a SS Mtb. Bit more leverage for thrashing about.
