Post your MTB ride

Bought this last night from a guy on Rotorburn.

Going to eventually get a steel hardtail frame and swap everything over, run an X9 rear derailer and possibly front/chain guide.

Its got this weird as ghost ring system, pretty rad.

Forks: Pike 454 Dual Air U-Turn
Frame: Scott YZ0 2006
Wheels: Sun Ringle 8 Tracks with Scott Hubs
Rear Brake: Avid Juicy 5, 6" rotor
Cranks: Truvativ Holzfeller
Pedals: Wellgo BMX
Handle Bars: DMR
Stem: ^^ same
Tyres: Maxxis Holy Rollers 2.4

Ghost rings are OK for cruising/commuting - but a bit iffy for DJ/Street riding/mtb duties.

Yer I’m not really that keen on it, I’ll leave it for now.

Nice one Leitchy. That looks bombproof - ghost ring not-withstanding :D. A mate of mine has Pikes and loves em. Are you dirt jumping or just trail? Drop us a line if you wanna hit YTs anytime.

cheers Dice, really at the moment I’m just learning to get comfortable riding a mtb again, just bruising around the streets of brunswick. I would be real keen to hit the yarra trails soon when i finally get a weekend free. Looking at getting a Ragley Blue Pig frame, then I will have an absolute menace of a trail bike.

Yer the ghost ring is an interesting concept, but I think the chain and sprokets are showing wear and stretching a little.

Intense SS loaded up.
Raced DH rode the trails and did everything in between. Had to sell it due to a shoulder reco and don’t even have a good pic.

What are you talking about Skippy, that shot is awesome! Just waiting for another good (muddy) day out at Wombat to take a shot of my whip - oh and gotta upgrade my forks before posting too.

fark mckenny those chainstays on that Banshee slam that wheel close under you seat, must be epic for wheelies and manuals, not to mention awesome fun on the trails.

Mana-poo and shmagrel bah, but seriously looks nice.

why the dislike for manitou?

Plastic compression rod is a good start!

They look lovely on the outside but if you ever pull one apart you’ll be disgusted with the poor workmanship on display (of the modern ones, anyway). They’re a good, light fork for one season of use, then throw away. Pricing is about on a par with this too.

Is that with all modern Manitou forks, and I thought most fork manufacturesr uses some kind of plastic/non metal internals for forks, possibly excluding Fox forks.
