Swobo Crosby.

Swobo Bikes[/QUOTE]

That looks sweet i would def concider that if i was on the look…

I have been changing my mind a lot recently about what SS CX bike I want. Originally I was gonna get a cross check frame and build it up nice, but the budget won’t allow that anymore so I am looking for an off the shelf ss cx bike for around $1000. I’ll be buying it in New York in about 6 weeks, I’ve got a sweet wheel set already that I will be taking over so stock wheels don’t bother me too much. What are peoples suggestions? At the moment I am currently looking at the swobo Crosby, kona major one and the all city nature boy. Am I missing something? Should I be looking at others? I originally wanted steel but not too fussed now, just want a decent ss cx rig largely for commuting, gravel grinder rides and long days on dirt roads etc. It’s main use for the first 5 weeks will be keeping me fit while I am staying in rural Guyana, had a look at the roads and they’re largely potholed and hard packed dirt, so a fast rolling tyre suggestion wouldn’t go astray either. Cheers.

Im pretty damn happy with my Kona major one, don’t quote me on this though but I don’t think they are in the Kona line up any more so tracking one down might be a little hard. Can’t comment on the other bikes as I have never ridden them.

There have been a couple of major ones on ebay recently… i think.
the nature boy keeps getting solid reviews.

What are peoples thoughts on the Traitor Crusade SS (complete)?

I’m going to order a Nature Boy frame in about 40minutes.

Ordered as of yesterday. Now to gather the remaining parts required!

Very keen to see the build come together!

Sneak peak.
Still a couple weeks off I’d say due to requiring a few more parts and going to Qld for a week on the 11th.

did you buy online or order thru a shop. if so, do you mind disclosing how much it was?
did you get the biggest size? are you gonna do CX on it or just use as a SS commuter?
i’m sure i have more questions?

I looked at your frame yesterday when I was picking up my CX
Very nice finishing on the frame especially the dropouts

Ordered through Cyclic who got it via the local distro. I paid a shade under $700 for the frame and fork.
I got the biggest size, which is the 61cm (or maybe its 63?!). I think it should fit quite nicely once I work out which length stem I need. The frame feels and looks bigger than I thought it would be, but thats only holding it and seeing it in the stand.
It’ll just be a SS commuter, but may get some knobbies mounted up on the odd occasion.
More questions can be answered if required and you’re more than welcome to take a closer look once I’ve got it built up.

I looked at your CX yesterday as well! I like your choice of brakes!!

yep, would defz like to see it finished and take it for a bit of a test ride! good price too.

Quick phone photo.

First impressions are positive.
Better photos will be up when I get a chance to take them.

SSCX is the new hipster sport of choice for hollywood’s hip young things!

Really??

I built one of these up for a 72 year old gentleman. Handpicked all the parts and his gearing in inches matches his age. Without doubt one of most inspiring cyclists I have met. His first ride was 60km’s - from one end of Sydney to his home in the outer suburbs. He’s already racked up 2,000km’s in the 5 or 6 weeks he’s had it and it’s not the only bike he has been riding.

I’d post his pic but he’s a little shy and prefers to stay out of the limelight.

Fuck, thought that dude in the photo above me was Matt Bowen…

Whilst I have no idea who it is, it’s obviously not Matt, as he’s on a bike, not a Vespa.
