Not sure if its been mentioned or if any of you ride the boulie but I’ve picked up two tacks on two separate occasions now. The first on the 28/2 and again this morning.
Rode past about 6/7 other riders fixing flats, the ones a spoke to all had punctures from tacks. Pretty annoying as it looks like whoever is doing it is coming back to drop down more. Looks like I’ll be sticking to Mt pleasant rd for a while.
There’s also a bit more info on these forums that I found…

This has been discussed in the armholes thread. Apparently VicRoads is onto it, but who knows to what degree: http://www.fixed.org.au/forums/f10/post-things-only-arseholes-armholes-do-23017/index315.html#post549912
I’d suggest you all lodge a complaint with VicRoads.
People on a couple of other cycling forums have been reporting it to vicroads here, under hazardous road conditions - Feedback & enquiries : VicRoads

Why can’t the mensa members responsible for this frankly boring act of sabotage take up a useful hobby, like warhammer or sketching.
Yup I got 2x tacks last week. Fuckers

Were you on your vintage mtb?
You deserve a puncture for that comment…
I was on my MODERN mtb which unfortunately has TUBES.
people can be so tacktless.
Yeah you guys think a flat is bad, I get 5-10 people a day in the shop.
I get 20-30, almost exclusively pinch flats so it’s just frustrating, 1 tack so far.

Wait, they go to a shop because of a flat - surely just to buy a new tube?

This is the great divide between ‘cyclists’ and ‘people who ride bikes’.
They either
Don’t know how to
Don’t care to
Don’t want to
See it as an inefficient use of their time
Those in (1) can often be taught and made self sufficient, the rest would rather pay to solve the problem.
Anyone ridden Kew Blvd since Sunday and if so any tack issues? Need info to plan route for our usual Thursday am hammer.
Also interested if there is any word of people still getting punnys.
Wanted to ride the bvl this morning but didn’t due to potential flats

I predict an upswing in road tubeless if this continues.
(Schwalbe One is pretty close to shipping, hutchinson atom has been out for ages)
Just start training on schwalbe marathon plus with some of those crazy heavy punny resistant tubes filled with anti punny slime stuff… won’t be light but no punctures + make you strong.

Or just run Durano Plus’s on your training bike??

I live in hope.
Tubeless One’s will be more puncture resistant and roll faster than those.
