Riding in the rain!

yeah nah. novel the first few times. Not now. because i have to sand all the bloody surface rust off my bare metal frame the next day HAHA and i hate the water spray up your back grrr

I don’t mind getting wet on a ride once started.
I hate starting a ride in the wet.
With all the rain we have had in Brisbane lately (and a forecast of a wet summer), I purchased my first fenders this week.
They are going on the Pomp (roadie version).

Riding in the rain is fun - playing polo in the rain is even better!

I love it when you get caught in a big storm and understand that you are getting soaked no matter what,
Then yelling at the sky…

“Is that all you Got”,

Weather is fine now, i’m heading out.

I hate riding in the rain but there’s nothing better than playing football in summer rain.

We had our first dry Saturday ride this morning for 3 weeks. It was good for a change  I’ll ride in whatever conditions, but a mild clear day with a slight tail wind is just unbeatable.

As long as your core stays warm and dryish, its okay. Oh, and having a change of clothes at the end dont forget!

Just got caught in a downpour, now i’m home it is sunny

Gotta love Melbourne.

Ok so I’m happy enough in the rain but I draw the line at hail.

indeed! i got caught out a month ago in some serious hail. just like paintball, its more pain than fun.

When it’s so ridiculously heavy you’re getting wet no matter it’s fine, and it’s even better when you have dry clothes to change into and a rear fender, but when it’s lightly raining on and off, the roads are wet, you have no mudgaurd, there’s a head wind and you can feel gritty water flicking up onto you and your bike… well that just sucks.

But I discovered on Tuesday how fun ti was to ride in the wet with brakes! so much easier!

There’s something brutally awesome about riding in the rain. Feels like riding into a war zone… sheer punishment. Always enjoy watching the cars drive by and the imagining how stunned the warm, dry drivers are as i skid past.

I think Friday night coming home from work was the worst weather i’ve ever ridden in. hail!

its good fun if your not riding to work or somewhere where u cant get changed, once the feet are wet it kinda gets teadious. on the way home= good fun. keep ur top half dry with a swrve jacket, they are the bomb digity. had to ride home once in a downpour and was saturated from the waist down.

thread dig.

just wanted to say that after getting ready to ride to work in the rain, it stopped 5 minutes after i rolled out in a decent downpour.

i was actually really disappointed.

anyone else experience this today? i got to work at 9.20am, so guessing most people were probably at work already… on time… like normal people and got thoroughly soaked.

i rode in around 7. i got wet. lol.

I’ve done this. Gotten all prepared to ride in te rain, actually looking forward to it, have appropriate clothing and bike, and I get to the end of my street and it stops. 5 minutes later it’s blue skies…

I’m surprised by the distinct lack of fenders in the cycling community. Lots of wet arses this morning!

… and muggy!!

Reminds me of when I saw a dude in white “urban camo” Skins worn with no shorts or anything over the top, with no mudguard riding in the rain. The brown stripe on his arse was a little disturbing.

and also some people who rode their bikes to work.
