Shimano Tiagra shifter query

A query for you guys with some knowledge on gearing/mtb stuff etc

If I wanted to swap the Taigra gearing from my cx/commuter over to a bike with flat bars, is there a set of MTB shifters that I can replace the brifters with that will work on a 2x9 set up?

Cable pull for 9-speed road and mtb is the same, therefore I believe you can use any 9-speed rapidfire shifters with your road derailleurs.
