lies.
but I’ve found the connectors.
Weird, sent one but it’s not showing, fark I must be losing my mind, this is twice now.
PM on it’s way.
Ok, guys at work just dropped this back on my desk.
How it looks at the head tube end, will undo the bolts (possibly replace with slightly longer ones) and slide the existing tang off the fork crown mount in and then do back up.
How it looks at the front end, note they used the existing weld hole and tapped it but found it was off centre, so drilled and tapped a new hole in the centre to suit.
And the standard B&M mount is double bolted to the new mount.
Have placed the order for the Ultegra 6800 parts needed to get it going with 11 speed.
Tried to run a coaxial wire from the weld air hole at the fork dropout up to the fork crown inside the fork leg itself. Looks like I could get it done based on the length of wire that went in, but I was unable to fish it out at the crown end. Will have to run it up the side of the fork leg instead and tape it in place.
Run a fish wire first and tape your coax to it. Also, magnets.
Yeah I don’t have anything in the house that could be a fish wire. Only just managed to feed the 2.8mm coax I have through the air hole, as the fork dropout tang blocks off 1/4 of the hole and you have to feed through on an angle and push the entire way.
Use cotton or fishing line and a vacuum to suck it out the other end if you get stuck
The cotton+vacuum trick is the most fun and rewarding one IMO.
That sounds like a cool trick to try, thanks guys.
The better the seal you get around the hole/vac the better
thats what she said
Last look at the Wolverine in its current form.
Adding another 21 speeds to it and replacing the broken shifter. Have some 65mm Bluemels as well to replace the 60mm mudguards.
Contemplating moving the current rear mudguard to the front for extra smug coverage.
Ah, for some reason I thought this was with the new guards. Looking forward to seeing the next phase.
And now updated.
Have added Ultegra 6800 compact 50-34 cranks and 11-32 cassette, front and rear derailleur, chain and a new BR-RS685 Brifter. Also swapped out the 60mm guards for some 65mm Bluemels. It gained me an extra 50mm length in coverage at the front and 100mm at the back. as well as theoretically being able to fit some bigger tires.
Weirdly Bluemels don’t make allowances in a cut out for a front derailleur like my previous ones did, so will have to get the dremel out and fix that up. It’s very snug at the BB area as well, with a bit of bending going on. The metal bracket for the top of the seat stays is also a bit naff, no matter which direction you put it on it will rub the seat stays, will have to do some persuading on it.
Need to grab some more new bar tape too.
Got funky and created a gif of the changes.
Very nice!
Yep, rad. Hey if ya wanna flip them tyres for bigger ones I know Brad is after some for the #condamineovanighta
Ha sweet, i was just scrolling up and down trying to pick the difference until i saw this.
Put the downtime watching Roubaix to use and compiled an animated gif of all the phases so far for the build.
