Soma Wolverine build

Chucked the 2.0" Ikons onto the Wolverine today to see whether they’d fit.

So that’s this years CX season sorted, Monstercross style.

And then I started playing around with the old 60mm wide rear mudguard on the front of the bike.

Like, needs moar #condamineovanighta

Nice, but that Dynamo cable is killing me, need to heat shrink it all up and trim it

There’s a beardo inside you just aching to get out.

You know it,

If you don’t want to trim just wrap the excess cable round a pencil to make a loose spring, less chance of it snagging shit.

New Soma Wolverine colour coming in blacker than the blackest Norwegian metal band.

Nice

Orange bikes FTW

Wonder what other tweaks the frameset has undergone.

+eleventy

Will multiply the multiplicity of sales Commuter already has now thats its coming in ‘Brunswick safety black’.

Is it just me or does the finish look matte?

Excited for mine to arrive even if I have yet to nail down how I’d like to build it up

I think you’re right. It’s very satin-ish

So with #2 on the way, the Wolverine will have to, within a year, be converted over to flat bar (maybe Jones Bar?) for #dadlyf duties with the Yepp Mini.

I’m in the process of nutting out the conversion of Ultegra 6800 11 speed from drop bar brifters to flat bar MTB and still retain the 11 speed Ultegra. Due to cable pull differences between Shimano road and MTB systems it’s not a straight swap. Looking at getting Dura Ace 7900 mechanical bar end shifters and mounting them on Paul Thumbies and switching to Shimano XT m785 (known experience from my Pivot 429C) or m8000 brakes.

Go SRAM, itll work

And congrats

Why? For a similar price you could just swap to 10 speed SLX.

Jones bar would be sweet.
Without bothering to go and look, I’m gonna suggest that 11 speed road flat-bar shifters exist… Shouldn’t they?

Couldn’t halp meself, they do exist: http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/shimano-sl-rs700-flat-bar-shifter-2x11-speed-black-220723

This is never the right answer. Unless the question is wireless derailleurs.

One of those because I can moments I expect, just how my brain works when it’s avoiding doing real work.

Did see USA’s favourite bike hobo pull off 11sp rear with Shimano deer head thumbies, an old XTR M952 9sp rear and a Wolftooth hanger extension on insta which got me thinking.

Trying to simplify it a little and use some of what I already have.

Oooh, didn’t know that existed, sweet.
