Successfully avoided buying anything at the weekends swap meet, even though the black Tubus Logo rear rack was calling out to me.
Looking at Stage 3 which is adding gears to the Wolverine. My current wishlist at Bike24 looks like this.

11-25 cassette?
Edit: derp, that’s the date. Ha!
What crank and cassette ratios are you going for?
50-34 compact, 175mm long.
11-32 cassette, I have hills all around me and a kid in a trailer to tow.
Nice.
That’s what I’ve got with the off-road wheels. Running 11-28 on the roadie wheels.
do you change chains when you change wheels?
or do you change regularly enough there is no issue?
(not drying to be a dick, genuine Q)
Nope, no changing and no issue
no issues with chain length there, unless you insist on being a muppett and ride 50/32 then you’ll put some considerable strain on the RD, but srzly, don’t be a muppett.
So long as the chain was setup for 50-32 then riding it with 50-28 won’t be an issue apart from a bit of slack?
I was thinking in terms of wear not length
I spose that’d come down to how often you change between the wheels.
I used to have two sets for my dually, one with 32mm slicks, the other the standard MTB knobbies. Only used the slicks maybe half a dozen times over a year but didn’t have any chain skipping issues due to the chain predominantly being used on the knobbies wheels/cassette.
Exactly, since I use 32 and lower on the one cassette already. There’s no slack because the RD takes it up
Both wheelsets have about 1000km on them so wear is even
Also, the second largest sprocket on 11-32 is 28t
Sweet as then. Guess if you replace the chain regularly it’ll be all good.
You’re such a dick Mike.
Anyways, guessing the above wishlist is all good? No issues? No upgrades/replacements I should be looking at?
I know.
I don’t have experience with the BB, but the rest is all fine
Not that I can see
