Holy smokes that’s cold!

Thanks for a rad couple of days. Great to meet some new people. Thanks again for organising, Pete.

It was proper cold, that’s for sure.

Thanks everyone for a rad time, and thanks for waiting at the top of the hills for me  Good company, good food, good whiskey. Yes it was freezing, but what a way to make the most of that time of the year. The road back to Bacchus was just lovely! I was ohhhhhhh-ing and ahhhhhhh-in the whole way. Catch you all next time.

June 25th!

Where shall we go?

Im in. Somewhere 28cc friendly with a campfire? Fuck it was cold last year.

I know a good spot

It’s just 28c friendly.

bunyip?

Yep.

Should say, I got shown a good spot

Kurth Kiln is also great, closer and bookable

Pick one of the two MikeD. Kurth, or new spot. Then let’s do it! How good are bikes!

just checked, you can no longer book kurth kiln

Even though you cant book, the other bunyip spot is only walk in (or ride in) so you’re pretty much guaranteed to have it to yourself, esp in the colder months

Yeah, I reckon it’s the goer.

I’m keen

Camp ground is call Bunyip Weir or Freemans Mill
http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/bunyip-state-park/things-to-do/camping

No toilets, just a picnic table.

26kms from Gembrook

  • ride from Packenham which I think is more chill
  • or Belgrave if you want some more rowdy climbs and descents
  • or 30km from Bunyip if distance is an issue but that’s a Vline station so only 6 bikes or so can fit on each train.

I’ve got Vic and the Bullitt and adventure in the back of my mind…

you can drive to within 6kms of the camp ground

as a warning thats Melburn-Roobaix weekend.
