How can you hate Cavendish after this year’s tour performances? This quote from Kittel:

The team only has to bring you forward at a certain moment and that’s it and then you have to go out of the wheel of someone at a certain point.”
It looks very disorganised and a free-for-all coming into the final kilometre. Sprinters who rely on their teams are not doing so well because it ends up being scrappy. For someone to be so consistent and to have already won three stages in such mayhem - without an organised team and figuring it out for himself - he is clearly dominating on form and skill. Robbie McEwen must be loving it.
Yeh it reminds me of McEwan riding other teams sprint trains.

I agree and think it’s not a bad thing. It gets a bit boring having the usual suspects with their big trains having at it in a wide boulevard. The good thing about that sort of technical ending is that you can see train-less opportunists mixing it up - like Bling (if I’m not mistaken, it looked he was there towards the end) Sagan, mcLay, Coquard and a few others. Harder for trains to get organised so lots of things can happen.
An interesting thing I saw when the peloton arrived in Montauban (a town very dear to me, I still visit friends and an old ex there), is that it looked like some traffic islands had been shaved off, especially in sharp corners. Could have been done to improve safety. Or maybe I’m dreaming.
