Team Sky now to wear Rapha

where the fuck is trigger??

i was thinking the same thing. he’s prob eating some cheese and just laughing at this thread.

I’m actually in bed reading it on my gf’s iPad. I’d say more but I’m going out for brekkie in an hour. That’s kind of a big deal for me these days. I think I’ll ride their and wear some Rapha in honor of this thread.

I really liked the look of the Adidas stripes on the SKY kit.

it’s a bit late for that…the rain’s stopped already.

ftfy

well that’s because chinese production is better than italian production these days…
isn’t that why all the high end european fashion labels now outsource all their shit to china then ‘finish’ it in italy and whack a ‘made in italy’ label on it???

Exactly. The whole ‘but it’s made in China’ hang-up is a fallacy. For many things Made in China is actually a sign of good quality.

well, dunno about that. but ppl definitley need to get rid of the idea that only shitty stuff comes out of china. cos obviously plenty of high quality shit does. (just about every single piece of electronic equipment for example)

But you’re agreeing with me.

Don’t admit to that one Jams!

There was the same centaments about Japan, many years ago, this may have been due the War. Now Japan gets put into the same high esteam as Germany (whatever thats worth).

Some of the problems with China and the next manufatuing super power India is the lack of working rights and enviromental practices. This being said is it is near imposible (finacialy and practicaly) not to consume from China.

unlike assos longstanding sponsorship of swiss cycling? or the massive amount of independent R&D they do, rather than copy other brands. or the fact that they offer a full repair setup in switzerland for their gear. they have long had a policy that they dont sponsor teams (as i believe they arent interested in giving the stuff away or limiting their audience), so its not like they havent taken a stance.

im the first to admit that whoever runs assos has a very unique view of marketing, but they have long had the attitude that they know their gear is good and they dont really need to dumb down what they offer.

given wiggo has a endorsement with fred perry i doubt he will be wearing a lot of the casual rapha stuff, but who knows.

its certainly a big move, but its not like rapha is any less well known than many of the of the kit manufacturers.

imagine the epic backstage pass type videos

Wating for a Orica-Greenedge x Rugged Bloke Collab kit. 'Straylan mate.

Orica-Greenedge and Bonds/ Havaianas

Neil Stephens rockin the rugged bloke kit.

Assos do make all the national kit for sure but do they have a continental team?, cross teams in different country’s, sponser racers in other country’s, orgainse events all over the world?
The guys at rapha are grade A bike nerds.
Assos is good stuff. I just can’t stand the geometric pattern obsession they have.
And I like that rapha do make a big effort to making cycling a better place.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

So true.

Nice one.

contrary to what you may think, rapha’s objective is to make money by marketing the shit out of their products

in my actual real life experience (bibs) rapha is no better or worse than any other top end brand, just costs heaps more - presumably to pay for the aforementioned running of events, sponsoring races etc

all that aside, if instead of riding your bike you prefer sitting around in central london drinking triple ristrettos handcrafted by your favourite artisan barista/moustache connoisseur while you glance lovingly at your pegoretti with campagnolo, ax lightness and tune components, then XXL sized rapha is for you!
