Aldi are selling the Aeropress Go for $39.90. They had about 50 in stock at Ferntree Gully.

Got an aeropress for a present - quite fun playing with it thus far… but its time for some actual useful suggestions
.
So… please post your favourite techniques, tips, links or whatevers for using it.

I don’t think there’s a heap of difference in what you get with the various techniques. Like always, bean quality is the most important thing.

I always did the inverted method cos that’s how I started off

throw it out and buy a Gaggia :eyes:

Hey I’ve got a Kogan grinder I no longer need. It’s almost brand new. I’m in Aireys Inlet (surf coast) but if someone feels like hitting the beach and picking up a free grinder, it’s all yours.

I love my aeropress. Here’s my total mansplain instructions for mixing ground up magic beans with water

  • 14g good coffee, filter grind (somewhat coarse sand texture?)
  • 95deg water (or just let it sit for a minute +/- after boiling)
  • Invert press (and extend plunger all the way to the end - #MAXCAPACITY!)
  • have paper ready in cap
  • add coffee, add water to the top, add cap (in that order)
  • keep away from small children and inquisitive cats
  • brew 1 min
  • invert over a cup and #PRESSIT slowly over about 20-30 seconds

Adjust variables above to taste…

went against my own militant Gaggia red pill and bought a cold drip thing, will report back.

I got Bec a Hario cold brew pot for Christmas - it has been great. Super easy to use and clean, and great coffee. Hario Cold Brew Pot 1L

that’s a good idea. how much tea do you put in?

1-2 tea bags, but ymmv

we often put a spoon or two of ground ginger as another option

OK coffee geeks, I moved house and have a bit of space for a coffee machine. Looking for recommendations on good bang for buck machines. Not pods, obvs.
