Was just listening to a radio doco on ‘The Sound of Sport’ – basically half of what you hear on a broadcast is either faked, a sample or exaggerated. No mention of cycling, but I guess they use similar techniques given the size of the ‘arena’ for something like the tour…
This would make sense. In order to free up bandwidth for transmitting the images, they would probably record the aerial shots with no sound, and just lay it on from the studio.
Love the sound of Phils voice though, and him and Paul are a great match. I get in the zone when those two are on, and I don’t hear much else.
The guy who commented on the worlds through the SBS site was pretty dull, I would have preferred silence and practised my own commentary. Sometimes Keenan is a bit dull too.
