it’s a bit lighter, and the longer stem with less rise suits me more, and any saddle is better than the stock one. so yea feels better
and also went from 23 tyres to 28’s so more comfy on the street
That saddle looks tiny for a turbo. Or maybe it’s just me?
yea, its one of those ones that turned out to be a shonky polish juniors knockoff that were selling a while ago
Got the shifting working on my Cannondale porteur. Bar-end shifters with Velo Orange porteur bars. Feels good man.
Took the KHS out, got some mud on the rims, and pretty much stripped the anodising off the braking surface.
washed it after it decided to rain to and from work today. was rather dirty because i cant help but going through every puddle i come across
first time de-anodizing and polishing, quite happy with the result =)
You make me feel inadequate regarding my polishing skills. I’ve been going at these Campag Record hubs for too long and getting no where. Stupid pitting.
i was quite lucky these dura ace hubs were in good nick, a few tiny marks, but nothing major. Ive been trying to do rims and its taking me FOREVER…need a bench grinder, the drill in a vice is a little awkward
Hope your not just using your hands mate!
For pitting use wet and dry first say about 200 then 400 then 600 then 800 then soft steel wool works a treat.
Nice work Jase
cheers mate, good to hear the perth bundle came through, looking forward to see the stash =)
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a bench grinder or anything, so hands it is.
Thanks for the tip, dayne!
DOOD! seriously, grab a cheap one from bunnings and a polishing kit, will make your job a crap load easier!
My boss just popped into work today with some polishing stuff for the grinder. Talk about good timing!
stripped & cleaned my roadie after riding everyday in the atrocious sydney weather of late. The amount of shit accumulated on cogs/rings/chain was amazing. Bike looks nearly new.
Fitted my old Cinelli Spinaci bars to the Hillman, period correct-ish if i do believe! Found them buried deep in a box of mystery bike parts on the top shelf in the garage. Now I can achieve a more aero posi on the commute to uni etc…
Spinaci bars aren’t UCI legal, you get no points in the Commuter Cup.
Went to clean up the Battaglin and discovered this!!!
No wonder it kept dropping gears the entire ride home :’(
shity =(
paint looks way cool though, theres a thread on it somewhere??!
Cleaning up the wife’s bike today. Tried to get the drive side crank off, no deal. Ended up taking it to Sam at Treadly bikes who got the crank off. We then had to get the BB out (which was the wrong length spindle). The BB had been loctited in on the drive side! We eventually got that out by sitting the frame with BB in a tray with boiling water, letting it soak, then clamping the BB tool in a vice and used the frame as leverage to undo it. Good times.
