I’m really liking these new forums - thanks for all the work (and resetting my password so promptly!)
One minor thing I liked from the old forums was the truncating of the page count so it showed the first couple, and last couple of posts. ie: 1, 2, … 11, 12. Instead of 1, 2, 3, … 12.
This was mentioned by p-dub a few pages back but I thought I’d add my voice into the mix.
Side note: reading through this thread was interesting - other people seem to use the forums in such different, more advanced ways than me. Subscribing to threads wasn’t a feature I was even aware of, it’s pretty great! (and could well negate the need for the above change now I think about it…)
Is it possible to get the “Save PM to sent folders” box ticked by default?
Also the “Go advanced” posting option is anything but, is there a reason for this? I haven’t actually ever needed to use anything other than quick reply but I’m just curious.
While I generally concur with Snowflake on this one, how much do you want? This site is already pushing a lot of bandwidth, however with the recent hardware upgrade, came some additional bandwidth… May as well burn it.
I dunno, I feel like I’m pulling a figure out of the air, but I reckon I could fill 5MB without too much trouble. Obviously the less I have the more I will reduce image sizes, so it’s not really a problem. Bike related stuff, of course.
If you go into your settings and change the number of posts per page to 40 you’ll find most of the threads are now only a few pages at most. Makes it much easier to navigate.
Like you said, I’d recommend just opening up a FlickR account. As you get much higher resolution images, as vBulletin rapes image quality, and you get near endless storage space. And just put a link to your ‘photostream’ in your sig on here if you like, and you’re set.
any possibility of changing the time to correct australian? (i guess eastern standard would be the best)
it’s a little irritating cos sometimes it’s handy to work out when somehting’s been posted.
(eg, i’m posting this at 1:40pm Thursday 27.05.10)
We did, but the admin was in a tropical paradise (i’m not joking) something about being distracted by coconuts and crystal clear water… bosses everywhere will be disappointed that he was able to be dragged away long enough to fix the problem.
