+1 …
hehehe “nom nom nom”
where the f*ck have you been?!?!?!
I could have used you, for or against, would have been ok!
haha - went down on site so I missed the shenanigans.
… looks like you’ve been having fun though.
your epiphany about creating “good threads” on the BMX one was amusing in light of this little number and the summary of your previous efforts provided in the brakeless fixie question thread… made me giggle
Azz, we have a ride to organise and if you keep going the way you have been this thread will get shut down. Out of respect for the ride can you please stop posting in here. We’ve established that you aren’t coming, you wish us well, so thanks and until the weekend is over consider that you don’t have anything constructive to add.
Now, let’s move on…
Erin thanks for the words of support. I’ll be taking my phone so if I can work out how to tweet on it I may give some live updates for the first day #byronride.
Meeting time and place. Did you guys want to leave from mine? It’s on the way for most of you I imagine, plus I practically live on Logan Road. Also if you’ve got gear you can bring with and put it in the car.
Time: Meet at 5:20am, Rolling at 5:30am?
^sounds good
breakie on the southern end of the goldie somewhere then roll on out through the tweed coast
Sounds good to me, Dan.
I am going to print some cue sheets for the second day. Is everyone happy with the following route (same one as originally posted):
Bicycle Path - Byron hinterland route v1 at Bikely.com
Happy to make changes.
The only unmapped detour is to go south down Fox Rd (off Dunoon Rd) a few kms for some coffee at around the 40km mark before jumping back onto Dunoon Rd.
im happy with that one
if my legs still feel like more on the way back, I’m sure you guys would be keen for some tt style action up and down the coast yeah???
oh and obviously the obligatory lighthouse finish…
dan, coffee on thurs, and i’ll give you a lesson in twitter? it’s an art, an intricate and fine art. i’d love to be able to keep up with the news!
pm’d Dan, don’t be such a dad…you got 7-8 weeks to go!
Hey guys.
I’ve been stalking the thread (it got a little lively there at one point). I’d love to come along, but I can’t be away from work for the three days. However, Is it cool if I tag along with you geezers for the majority of the 1st leg? I have a sister I need to visit down that way. She lives near Nimbin of all places (no, she’s not a hippie nor a stoner). I’ll ride with you as far as Tweed Heads and then I’ll branch off and head inland, stay the night and catch a ride back sunday for work monday.
If my wheels are built for the ol’ roadie I’ll be taking it.
If there are any objections to me coming- sing out. Won’t take any offence.
Also, I’ve been pulling Erik and some others around the shirts loop most mornings these last two weeks trying to get the fitness back up after breaking the wrist. I’m feeling pretty aight. If you drop me it won’t matter anyway
that’s gunna hurt
more than happy for any additional company on the run down - bonus points if you do it on the pursuit bike (and gearing)!!!
yeah jez! do it!
give us a bell when your pass through the gc, i could get a few of the lads together. we could be your domestique’s for a few k’s
Is it just me and shirts riding fixed?
For anyone who doesn’t have any already. Buy some of this…

If its as humid this weekend as it has been, then gouche’s will feeling smashed this weekend after multiple hours in the saddle. I never used the stuff til the BNE > SYD ride earlier in the year, and damn its good stuff!
yeah no one else was keen to get their “terry” action on
Arse butter FTW. Still waiting on Wiggle for the saddle that I ordered after doing this same ride in January! Hopefully my current saddle is up to the task.
I’ll take the pursuit for sure… if anyone can tell me how to remedy the lower back pain I get after I ride it for more than 40mins? I could do with the bonus points afterall.
