I just had that exact thought as I walked down the street at lunchtime. So many Cells on the streets of Sydney, great to see bikes being used and knowing that the riders didn’t pay a fortune. I bought a couple of their cheapo wheelsets recently and they’ve given me no trouble (yet).
I’m with Blakey (I think).
When you said ‘twin top tube’ I thought of this.

I like this type. I don’t like the other types above.
i was thinking what blakey and CdK were, randonneure stylee.
what is the point of OP.
looks stoops.
if you’re looking for new ideas, think about making a production frame for guys over 6’2"
and i agree with that bit about buck angel, just discovered who he was last nite…
Yeah, these types of bikes are sweet, reminds me of the ‘worksman’ hi-ten cruisers in the USA that last forever, but weigh a ton.
looks cool, but all i can see it doing is adding weight for no real benefit
Re: Trek Earl, agree.
Re: Rivendell style, for a frame above ~64cm you need to reinforce what is rapidly becoming a large flexy parallelogram.
I know there’s all types of cyclists out there, but some riders (like myself) don’t always ride something because it’s efficient, practical or stiff, etc. I guess it’s a very small segment of the market, who’d be interested in twin (horizontal) tubed bikes.
If we really wanted to ride really practical bikes…would we be on recumbents? …actually, are they practical? maybe fast, with the least amount of effort? anyway…nevermind
NO. Imagine commuting on a recumbent? Doing a hills ride? Fuck me dead, they’re fucking stupid. Fast in a straight line maybe, but death everywhere else.
EEERrrrrghgghgghhgghg
should i bother to ask why you found out about buck angel at night, hahaha.
if you really want to bend your mind, google ‘nong poy’, then ask yourself…‘nong poy’ or ‘buck angel’…to save the world…
you mean this one Gordy?

We might just go with something like this instead…
Dude, you didn’t see the woman doing a lap of the CX course in Canberra on a recumbent!
Fixies are hardly the most efficient, practical, stiff bikes out there ![]()
I just don’t see much benefit on twin horizontal tubes except for a style differentiator. (Like the curly chain stays on my Hetchins.).
This is where it ends up if you push the design concept further:

Actually, this might be pushing it furtherest!

I could never ride something that would fit comfortably under the front of a truck !
no you are!
Quiet, you isosceles triangle.
(Also: HMC is a pentagram)
i’m happy with that.
Yeah, that’s the Giant I saw. Blakey is correct, it is just styling to be different, but I don’t mind that.
Wasn’t there a PK Ripper bmx, Quadrangle I think, that ran a twin top tube?
I’d still buy one.
it was innocent i swear. was looking at a photographer’s blog. i guess he knows some porn stars in LA
whoah!
Seen this guy heaps in 4chan trap threads.
