wiggle is starting to suck nearly as much as any advice lordy has to offer ( MtBing not withstanding though ) in his many years of trolling the interweb. it’s no longer offers the best prices and or the best selection parts any more you have to look else where these days…
veloflex are not making any 22c tires any more but there are a few places you can get em ( prolly the best tires you will every likely own by the way )
the australian importer cycling projects have em and i know his tubbies are cheaper by around $10 each, but hes waiting on new stock… you could give him ‘felice’ a call 0297992470 see if he has any of the 22c tires left… if your not a dick he;s a super nice guy
shiny bikes in the uk… the place to buy groupsets from for killer prices by the way… Veloflex Black Folding Tyre still got em!
good excuse for you too just shut the fuck up… if you wana give people advice on what to buy/not buy then at least choose things you have actually done /seen with your own hands/eyes.
The guy that’s asking posted a wanted ad for a bloody innertube yesterday. I doubt he’s gonna spring for a new fork or any Veloflex tyres.
B7FF, I’m pretty sure I’ve got a set of unused Michelin Axial tyres in 700x20, amber wall. They’re a decent enough tyre and I’m only asking $20 for the pair, pickup from Brunswick. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll confirm I’ve still got them.
Btw, The difference between 21mm and 20mm is nominal anyway, most tyres vary in actual width from the stated measurement. These might be as wide as some companies 21 or 22mm offerings for all I know.
my track bike can run 22c tire but 23c tires=paint missing from the down tube… 1/2mm is enough on a sweet tarck bike and 20c tires are not much fun on the road
Yeah old age does have it’s virtues and while a file isn’t a hammer, using it on the forks crown can also give you a little extra clearance while saving a bee’s dick (or two) in weight.
No drama cuz next time wait until the morning and call cycling projects. Or buy a nice veloce gruppo for cheap it’s the new tiagra round hear you know…
21 £s shipping is defantly an excuse to buy a whole lota other shit
Email em and ask for the oldest date stamped tire they have… Velos are hand made they use natural rubber and the tread is glued to the tire casing. The rubber settles and hardens over time and the glue gasses out…
The older tires are a bit tougher and faster
Shiny bikes are pretty kool cats, Im sure they’ll sort it for you.
Dude your 20ish years old what the fuck do you really know about anything ? Other than touching your self and trying to get 5 days outa one pair of socks…?
Buy the right tire and leave the file in your tool box ( which prolly contains a bastard file, hammer, a shit chain beaker and a large shifter at best )
I guess if it’s a shit heap of a bike not worth the value of the tires on it then file away cuz…
Thing is lots of peps round here own bikes that you woundn’t dream of touching with a file.
As it is the man was imparted with the information he needed and very swiftly followed through…
Take your file and your idea of economical solutions and troll some where else…
Save your 2cents kid you it obviously need it
Will you two stop bickering. Its boring. Sugarkane has champagne taste with a champagne budget. Everyone knows this and gets he trolled accordingly by the more frugal/poor forum users. Lemontime just CTFO and stop taking him to task over all his posts, mmmkay.
What, you work in marketing now? Let me type slow for you: c l i n c h e r.
Tubulars is where it’s at for ride quality, although there certainly not an everyday tire (no, there not. your arguement is invalid)
Fancy a track bike designed to be ridden with 21c tyres.
Yup 20c tire actually But that’s the way most track bikes were made back in the day
And an open tubular is infact a high quality C L I N C H E R tire usually hand made just like a real tubular tire, mostly by companies ( veloflex and Vittoria for instance ) that made high end racing tubulars and is designed to ride and feel like a T U B U L A R…
And for your information tubbies make great daily rider tires. Not good commuter tires but we are not talking about commuting here are we. I average 2-300 kms per week of riding on em and don’t have any issues, but then I hardly ever flatted when I ran clinchers either
