WET WEATHER SHENANIGANS!

Oh man, I want one!

Liam: Those Zefal Flamingos are a bit of a hassle to get on and off I reckon. The SKS guards that Ben and I use are top notch. I think we’ve got them for about $25 up at Clingo’s. You’d still need something for the front though.

I wear a lid helmet with a fair bit of padding, it does the job keeping my head warm. The areas affected were my cheecks and neck. I only think I would wear something less then 10 times a year, so I doubt I will really do anything about it.

neck gaiter, or the post apocalyptic mad max-esque face mask. Safe from airbourne pollutants, and incriminating car driver photofits.

Neck gaiter seems like my dream product. thanks!

SCORPION WINS!

Someone was talking about chicken soup… someone used the word ‘shenanigans’… sounds like a good wet weather combo

I need some help.
I have tried unsuccessfully at SO many bike shops to get either SKS chromoplastic or Zefal Paragon mud guards. they’re both full wheel ones that come in shiny silver. 700c wheel.

I’ve tried (in no particular order)
abbotsford
ray’s
iRide
ivanhoe
BSC
fitzroy
cecil’s
melbourne bicycle centre
dean woods
st kilda cycles (only in 28")

I ordered a bunch of stuff online including some guards. they dropped it from the order because it blew the package size out too much.

emailed parker-international to enquire about shipping costs. 80 quid. the guards themselves are 23 quid.

anyone who has them, has them in black.

any ideas?

Zefel Flamingo is the go. I attach mine to the seat tube (poked in through the seat stays) to get more coverage. Although I didn’t take them today and got soaked didn’t I? Yes I did :expressionless:

Yeah, you tallies can put them through the seat stays! I had a flamingo but traded it with a mate for some other number that sits closer to my wheel and has a nifty QR function so I can shove it in my bag (err, after I dry it…) when I lock my bike up.
Failing that I just ride the ladies cruiser I picked off hard rubbish that has full fenders and a very lonely coaster brake. I had a surprisingly dry bum yesterday, my thighs however were very cold and wet! I’m thinking some neoprene pants wouldn’t go astray
This time of year I try to keep a plastic bag under my seat - that will cover my seat - for when I need to lock up in the elements.

You could buy a Salsa Casseroll Triple, strip the guards and sell the bike?

Find a friend in the UK who’s flying home?

Buy them in black and use vinyl dye?

Contact the importer (http://www.netti.com.au/) to see if they bring the silver ones in?

What about the Soma Eurotrip fenders? http://somafab.com/eurotripfenders.html

Or Planet Bike Cascadia Fenders? http://ecom1.planetbike.com/7028.html

buy a Redline 925, full fenders front and rear, even a plastic chain guard!

Thats just scary.
