one step is all it takes to be removed from the realm of illegal conduct

I’m not sure what to think. … But I really want to think that someone out there is clean and racing well through pure talent; as it is I’m not sure we’ll ever know.
I do really think someone out there is clean and racing well through pure talent — and his name is Cadel Evans.
Call me foolish if you like.
+1.
And don’t forget Philippe Gilbert.

Oh how the tables have turned
Yeah I used to not like Cadel, and I’ve never liked Armstrong.
But Armstrong has charisma out the arse compared to Evans.
Charisma and drugs: A winning combination then eh Dylan?
Been working for my dad for 30 years.
Or not working.
I dunno.
I wish I looked like a shark when I rode in time trials.
Have you been reading my thoughts again?
No need. Just the vibe of your avatar means we will see eye to eye on most things.
Henk Vogels said it best the other night … something to the effect of “he’s been tested over 500 times and come up clean”. The sport of Cycling needed him, yet now the knives are out. Hypocrisy upon hypocrisy it now looks like the “sport” is ready to eat itself.
As far as Lance goes now that everyone has it in for him I like him, when he was everyone’s favourite I was mostly “meh”. Irrespective he’s clearly played the game better than anyone else in recent times and you’d have to be truly naive to think a normal human being could be a pro cyclist without some blurring of the rules. The sport is a facade and we all buy it in some way and since the beginning of the sport men have been using whatever they can to ride the furthest/fastest.
It doesn’t matter, the stakes are too big, it’s just another form of entertainment. Jaques Anquetil (5 time winner of the TdF) long ago said - “What? You think I win my races on sugar alone?”.
Got a thing for bad boys Spizzy?

good post from another forum which should help clarify things for those who do not know whats going on :
This is not just about doping. It’s about a criminal enterprise that has defrauded the government for $31million and an insurance carrier for $5million. Along they way they probably facilitated the enterprise with money laundering, tax evasion, bribing foreign officials–a few little things.
^ The problem with this being, that it is not necessarily the objective of the Feds to ping him for doping. It is entirely possible that the investigation could lead to serious charges, with his results still staying in place (Bjarne Riis anyone).
the statute of limitations comes into place anyway, but i think most rational people are less concerned about stripping him of results, and more concerned about finding the truth about corruption in the sport, and in his so called charity.
This isn’t necessarily correct. A lot of the things that could potentially be charged may be classed as continuing acts and there is the ability to bring claims outside of the relevant statutory period, depending on the relevant facts etc.
I agree 100% with you though, most people don’t really care about results being stripped though, just like with this Giro. Everyone will remember Contador smashing everyone else, no matter what the record books are rewritten to say.
Interesting that while all this is happening, LA stands to make a nice wad out of the floating of Sram in the US.
the whole thing reminds me of this

And thanks to our friends at Jens Voigt’s Army: the Lance Armstrong soundboard.
The history of our race, and each individual’s experience, are sown thick with evidence that a truth is not hard to kill and that a lie told well is immortal. - Mark Twain
I think it hard to defend or try anyone without knowing the facts, but I look down at the others (Landis, Hamilton etc) who come out with “the truth” when it’s too late and well after the fact, like they suddenly found integrity after their time in the limelight has long since faded. Where was their courage when it counted?
