What's your biggest bike stack?

thats what you deserve if you make a tall bike

Well I know where I was, I think. Unless I just remember that because I was told where I was…

The last 3 weeks have been blurry at best… I’ve found it to be a lot of fun to have a simple brain that doesn’t know how to stress or think too much… bonus.

Got my $740 ambulance bill today.

Did you ductape your leg?

if you had an accident on the road, the TAC should cover your emergency mdical bills

I’m pretty sure the TAC or anything close doesn’t exist in SA. Anyone?

The thread preview hilarity continues. This time: “What’s your biggest…Johnson”

Not so depressing

bombing down a hill on the way to school on my downhill bike. light rain and a hill that i used to get 76 k on my hard tail so i was traveling pretty fast. got into a tuck rain hurting my eyes so i was looking down. looked up saw a car no more tan 5 meters in front of me which had just pulled out into the 25 k school zone.
Clipped in to spds so dragged bike over all flat panels on a brand new 3 series BMW. landed on the bonnet and set of the air bag. Broke the jaw clean off my full face. ripped my blazer, lots of grazing but ok.
when i got up the milf that was driving the car came rushing over apologising even though it was mostly my fault seeing i was clearly not looking and speeding. She went to the car grabbed he check book and wrote me a check for $1000 cash even though the bike was ok apart from a few scratches. needless to say i was it the bank door at 9.30 cashing the check 9.40 at the bike shop ordering $1000 worth of cool new parts. Got mum to pay for the helmet and uniform
Its amazing how well you bounce when you are young

you didnt think to ask and or suggest compensation in another form?? :sunglasses:

too young and dumb to think of that. hindsight what a wonderful thing

We have an MAC but until they started showing those new ‘think about drinking’ ads I didn’t know they existed. Sorry to say but I’m pretty sure you’re on your own with the ambulance bills in SA. Doesn’t help you much now but perhaps you should look into getting private health insurance with ambulance cover? I had to get it while I played football-it’s pretty cheap for people under 30 and ambulance cover is always handy. I never got injured while I played but I think it paid for itself when I got injured after a night on the turps

having no ambulance cover astounds me… in vic it’s relatively cheap too

came off on broadway, near turnoff for newtown, sydney. broke left collarbone. didn’t want to face an ambulance bill that would be twice the cost of my last build, so i sat for 20mins for brother to pick me up and drive me to RPA for a liberal dosage of morphine.

p.s. thanks to all those drivers which got out and came over to help and passing pedestrians… oh wait, i must have just dreamt that…

Christ there are some seriously morbid tales in this thread.

So not really a bike stack from me but pretty funny…

First week of my gf commuting daily on her bike and also first month of being in Sydney.

Me: “Stop listening to your ipod and stop riding on the footpaths, learn the roads.”

GF: “The music keeps me going and the roads are scaaaaary, hee hee!!!”

The next day she facepalms mounting the curb to change the track on her ipod.

I LOL’d.

True story.

Not on my fixie but a tad faster than most.

6:45min mark ruptured ACL, knee reco required

This is my other hobby, no not crashing!

Just recovered from this

and for the hell of it a shot of the metal wire they drilled into my bone

A brake made all the difference. With out it I would have gone arse over and ended up on the road or firmly planted into the side of the car. With the brake I managed an awkward endo and a mild fall on to the back of the car. The only thing that hurt was not being able to ride for 9 weeks.

Youch. You’ll be needing another bottle or two of the old Hankey Bannister to get you through the first few nights with your new metal insert, no doubt.

Hankey Bannister. I finished that weeks ago. I’m on to two recently imported bottles of Sho-Cho from Japan.

Ah shit, do you know how you got so messed up?

I think I’ve met you at the South Morang track this year! I was riding a KTM 640 SM with blue and white leathers.

I had a decent stack this year when I flipped a wheelie after rebuilding my engine (it became peaky) and the bike fell on my leg and I bent the boot zip with my tibia.

Most entertaining bicycle crash was prob when I was young and literally telling someone “don’t do this when riding fast over speed humps”.
