Wisemans Ferry Gravel Grind 2015!

Referring more to the fire, coffee is pretty much essential…

OK. I’m making it Saturday 12 April. I’m sorry that not everyone can make the date, but it seems to work for most.

Save the date, and more info to come.

Awesome. 98% in.

I’d be in but I’m doing some fundraising that day. Should manage my situation better. Sounds rad, enjoy guys

Definitely in! Would a set of Conti GP4000’s survive the run, or should i whack on something a bit more tough?

Building my bike tomorrow night, so unless it fails, i will be there, with 25’s for a change. keen as mustard.

is it weird that i want to skype you while you build up that dale?? =D

LOL. have a few mates coming around to join in the party… could be (more) awkawrd lol

The real viewing will be when I build up the colossi on Monday night with Stace…

The answer to most tyre questions is ‘yes’. With a bit of care most tyres will be fine.

The details:

Wisemans Ferry Gravel Grind 2014

Last year’s gravel grind, washed out in the cold and the wet, was still one of the best rides of the year. This year, it’s on again. A couple of months earlier for the daylight and warmer weather but still with all your favourite gravel sections.

Saturday 12 April 2014. Ninety ks of gravel and a little tar, with a 40k option.

Meet at Wiseman’s Ferry Park from 7:00am for a bacon and egg roll and an 8:00am start.

Nice and I’m in.

I’ve come to realisation that there’s a high chance of me riding this single speed, based on the fact the only geared wheels I currently have are tubs, with corsa sc’s on there.

I could help you out if you had shimano, but no, you have to be all hoity-toity with your campag.
Actually, I could normally help with campy clinchers but my cannondale is out on loan… soz.
And hang on: what about the casserole? Thought that was geared now.

The wheels off the casserole are on my Caad… lol

just get some cheapass Khamsin’s until your new wheels are built Lorday and then flog them off once done.

Or Borrow Ben’s spare 10spd wheels before he put the yolo’s on his BMC for the salsa

If you need shimano wheels for the casserole, I’ve got the DT 1.1/circus monkey ones that tom built doing nothing at the moment. They even have sweet parigi roubaixs on them at the moment. If you want them for the ride let me know.

Edit: think I even have a spare 12-27 (or 28) cassette lying around too. Maybe.

I did a similar ride (River Road mainly) on my track bike last year and it was perfectly doable. A Singlespeed will be just fine.

That would be great Jono, I’ll let you know next week if my rims don’t arrive in time to build into a wheel set. Cassette wise I’m fine though.

Also as sweet as my new wheelsets will be:
350’s (campy) > dt rev > a23 (OC rear) 28/28
Ultegra (shimano) > dt rev > a23 (OC rear) 32/32
