2014 WorldTour thread.

Taylor Phinney. Chainring to the ribs.

Strada Bianche is on tonight, one of the best races of year I reckon. I think it is on Eurosport for anyone that has that. 2014 Strade Bianche Live Video, Route, Teams, Results, Photos, TV

Anybody watch it? just going by the cyclingnews reports, Cadel had a good race, although he faded in the last 20 klm.

Kwiatkowski must be a real talent to beat Sagan like that.

Awesome race

Last 5kms showed that Kwiat had better legs than sagan. attacked right at the steepest part while sagan was spinning a smaller gear and sagan didnt have the legs to go with him.

well deserved victory.

sean kelly is still all-time as a commentator. i had to pause the replay a couple of times to work out what he said.

Trofeo Balestra finish was hilar. confetti cannons go off and riders hit the deck.

fwiw … even I rode up this (32 x 26 & 30mm tyres and a very slow cadence) :stuck_out_tongue:

Gruber had a fantastic pic on Instagram of Pozzovivo going away with Valverde chasing taken from above, it might be that hill - or an even thinner one, with no fences, no fans. Looked like the PROest alleycat you ever saw.

Edit: this one - Instagram

Yeah different race. That was Roma Maxima, sweet photo but.

I’m looking forward to the Giro this year, maybe more than the Tour. That means I’m really looking forward to seeing how the Green jersey plays out this year and who might be able to challenge Sagan.

Bertie is back! back!! back!!!

Yeah Bertie is back, full of fitness and God only knows what else. He even dropped Quintana.

Strange excuses from BMC about Evans. He’s looking finished. I could understand the “still building condition” excuse if he was 2 minutes behind, but he lost 8 minutes in one stage. This is the race he won during his TDF year.

Funny to hear that although Cancellara beat Cav in the sprint, was pretty pissed with second place. Knowing Kristoff’s past, he might be awarded first anyway.
Great to see Sagan again found wanting when things got real. And a fun fact…Cancellara has finished on the podium of the last 10 monuments he has ridden in. Not including the broken collarbone which we try to forget.

^ I was amazed at Cav actually, he came very close to the win. I loved Nibali’s trick too, even if it did not eventuate. Cancellara has big ambitions on these classics, if I remember well he’s talking about retiring in a couple years.

You’re not thinking of Kolobnev maybe? Kristoff’s a cleanskin, at this stage anyway.

Shit, you’re right. My bad.

Organisers guarantee a wet hell of the north

…semi-classics, like Gent-Bubblegum or whatever it’s called

By the way, if you want to know how to tell a full-on Classic from a semi-classic, the answer is that if George Hincapie has ever won it, it’s a semi-classic
lol

haha. Where is that from?
