Not a good look all around in the Talansky crash but why mix it with the roleurs and sprinters at that point, do what you gotta do to avoid guys like gerrans, Sagan, van marke. Talansky didn’t have a hope for the win and the tour is always like this in the first weeks. Yes be up the front but stay out of trouble and sure as he’ll stay away from the sprinters in the last 100m if you are going for gc.
First day of “serious climbs”.
133km of flat roads with some rolling hills, then back-to-back Category 2 climbs before finishing with a 10.3% Category 3 climb.
Should be a great day to see some of the contenders make attacks and possibly Nibali relinquish the maillot jaune (possibly strategically?). Bring on the climbs!

There’s nobody close enough on GC who could win tonight and then not be a threat for him to palm to.
Rui costa, Valverde, kwikatowski tonight? would be nice to see Voekler sneak away and claim it. All smartarseness (yeh that’s not a word) aside, if Talansky had stayed out of the middle of a sprint yesterday it would be a good stage for him too.
I guess mean in the sense of Astana not wanting to defend for 2.5 weeks may not be too upset if it goes and Nibali is still in touch.
