It’s always that way at the nationals.
Only the teams with big numbers get team cars.
I would say SASI probably does better than most states at supporting their riders too
Who knows if this is even true though. Whitey said it was happening, but Whitey says a lot of things if they’ll cover his arse.
And respect for national champs? He showed up, he smashed it at the front of the bunch while chasing a breakaway, what more can he do?
Meme idea: 3 frames.
Top frame: India’s 1st innings scorecard from tonight. 310 to win circled in red.
2nd Frame: Matt White’s head poorly shopped on Kohli’s body, with the speech bubble “don’t bother chasing mate u’ll blow it all out for 200”
3rd Frame: Steve Smith’s head on Bobridge’s body crossing the line “Fuk u OGE tactics lol”
Shit, shit meme.
I think I prefer badly described text-based memes over the real thing tbh.
I’m trying to make it a new thing.
I reckon you’re onto something with the 3rd frame tho.

Quotes from lunchtime.
“Is that Phil Ligget? He’s a really good commentator, really knows his stuff.”
I choked on my spag bol.
“Ahh Ritchie Porte, he’s good, a real up and comer, they reckon he can win the TdF.”
Gagged on my fruit salad.
Both statements true
Also, Geoff has good lunches.
^ carb loading for my commutes.
How can you continue to pronounce someone’s surname wrong when everyone else in the booth says it correctly. McCarthy…not mccartee. Fuck I wish he’d just get in the bin.
Two in a row to Gerro
Garry d’Hubbard will be pleased
Whats the matter with Richie? I really enjoyed todays stage, his stage win was awesome to watch but why is he such a winger? Has he always been like that? All he’s doing is talking himself down, that his legs are not up to what they were used to be last year and all this crap. Did he go to a new team to just talk bullshit all day long and retire soon? He doesn’t even seem to enjoy himself.
Last year he was aiming at the Giro so his training was more advanced, this year he’s training for July.
But I do wonder if he really has enough mongrel in him.
Hehe. It’s true that Richie is a bit of a whinger. But I enjoy a guy who doesn’t put a special face to talk to the media.
IMO Richie is still quite green and needs a few years to develop some more badassery.
Porte is quite old, 31 this week, I don’t think he is going to change much. He has a bit of an outsider, chip on his shoulder mentality - he sees himself as a Tasmanian rather than an Australian, and he has a grudge against Australian cycling and Oz cycling media because he was overlooked for their high performance programs when he was younger and in his eyes had to go OS and make it on his own. So his primary allegiance is to the OS teams that support him (and Avanti who he rode for here).
However, his recent statements are true - and he is usually honest with the media. In last few years he started the season very well and then imploded mid-way through in the grand tours. This year, new team BMC have changed his program training loads so he can peak later in the year in Europe. So when Porte says - he is surprised at his win given the state of his legs that is actually what he is referring to, he really is in worse condition now than in previous years. I think Porte said that Peiper (BMC performance manager) had told him he would kill him if he won the Australian National Road Race last week, and Porte was never aiming to win TDU GC either, Dennis was BMC’s lead rider.
That last 1 km climb up Willunga ranging from 3-6% is a ride that really suits Porte’s strengths - he is close to unbeatable there even in less than peak condition.
