Please share your source for dumb cheap NJS frames.
I live in Japan, so Yahoo Auction, Mercari, in person. Constantly coming across clean examples but they are all in the low 50s size wise.
I actually did pick up an older Levant 57cm frame for about $100. Its my grocery getter now, running full NJS parts other than the saddle, clincher front wheel and flat bar. Touch small still, but rideable for the distances I use it.
By the look of the decals, it had been sitting in a shopfront for some time. Head tube decal and one side are faded pretty good, but the other side is perfect.
^ There’s some 58 frames on NJS Export, but I wouldn’t say they were dumb cheap.
Yeah, they are pretty dear. I’ve come across a few 58s and one 59 on YA, but they either were marked way up or really rough. I recently found a beautiful, bright magenta, 57cm Nagasawa, but it had one big flaw, the rear triangle looked like the bike had been hit by a car. It was all kinds of mangled.

Tried some e-bikes today. I was…underwhelmed (at least by the street-legal options).
You mustn’t be old and decrepit enough then. An even moderately fit cyclist is going to be faster than a street-legal e-bike in most places except the steepest/longest hills.
E-cargobikes, on the other hand, are awesome.
just buy land cruiser imo, best e cargobike out there.

Age and decrepitude are coming on alarmingly fast but (apparently) I’m not there yet.
Work friend has a sweet e-utilitybike, she takes her kids to kindy on it on her way to work. I was quite taken with hers.
Yeah, I use mine to drop the kids to school and preschool. It’s great. This morning a brief rainstorm hit right before dropoff time: the line of cars at school went back two blocks, I just rolled past straight to the gate.

I went into the work toilets earlier. All of the cubicles were apparently occupied, but on closer inspection one of them wasn’t. The “occupied” sign was on but the door was ajar and the cubicle was empty.
