Bullitt - Blue Bird 71 Build

Ok so a while ago I posted this buy and today after being f’ed over by TOLL/Ipec for over a week (you pack of lazy, lying “we can’t operate a sticker” fucks) I have it in my possession. Hooray! Squeezed it in the Foz and now have it in the lounge room ready to unpack n build. Thought a few may be interested, if not fry away :o

Cool. Make sure this thread is pic heavy please.

Had to google it… But fek yeah! Have you at least opened the box yet??

Fucking awesome! Have toyed with the idea of one of these for ages but just have nowhere near enough room in the current house. Maybe one day. Seconded on the pictures!

I was expecting a bit of this

and this

similarly

MX5 Bullet just needs the bluebird shell

cannot wait for this to be up and running. Get dem pics rolling!

Here we go, un boxed

I met a German family of 6 touring in Europe, Dad rode one of those carrying most of the gear and towing a trailer with a 1&2yr old in it!

FUCK THIS IS SWEET! Would absolutely love one of my own, one day.

Alright steering tube install not going so well? As you can see there is a BIG gap between the spacer and the bottom of the clamp. There is a notch on the inside of the clamp preventing it from sliding down any further! If you watch the vid below it should slide right in! The video instructions and printed/supplied instruction seem to clash a bit so might need a trip to GEAR ;( Looks to me like either cut the steerer shorter or heaps more spacers, frustrating.

So I moved on the the front fork, no dramas

Install vid 1. this is actually one of the guys who runs the show

Cheers mang. What I wouldn’t give to be able to go on your trip, one day

steering arm attached and front calliper attached and aligned. Brakes, what a fuck around!! I’ll take any tips anyone has at any time here hey

Marty is the man for hydro brake set up, im ok but he’s better,
If your’e no go i may be around tomorrow after lunch.

May take you up on that man. The steerer is my immediate problem but. Oh and whats the go with this valve? Front is stocko presta but this is neither presta or schreda (how ever you spell it) can’t get it to take air. Quickly finding myself out of my depth, gonna have to take it to the shop. Little disappointing but better than breaking shit. Don’t know if it’ll even fit in GEAR!

Got the rear wheel on properly I think! After perusing this…
