Here is what i am in the process of building at the moment.
It should be done by next week i am just waiting on my bars, stem and BB.
Frame set: Cervelo T3
Wheelset: Campagnolo Pista
Cranks: Campagnolo Record Pista
BB: Campagnolo Record Pista
Pedals: Campagnolo Record pro fit (I was going to use something else but i haven’t pulled a foot yet)
Saddle: Using my old Selle Italia Novus Ferrari Engineering saddle for now.
Bars: Easton EC90 Carbon Track 38cm
Stem: Easton EC90 SL 120mm
Im still trying to choose a tyre at the moment i use Veloflex record (Clincher) on my training wheels and think they are great so I’m may use the tubular version on my campy pistas as the Vittoria Pista CS tubs i have on there at the moment are very slippery on the boards.
Any advice for the tyres and chain for that matter?
Here is the frame i will post more pics next week once built
Veloflex is the company that stayed behind in itlay when vittoria moved too thailand
The record tublaurs are the track/TT tire but only avaible in gum wall. And I wouldn’t take this tire out in the real world they are crazy light.
If you want black the extreme is the ticket. I run em on the front of my roadies and the last one lasted nealry 6000km until I fucked it with too much heat from pushing a very step tech descent A bit too hard.
One thing no one will ever say about veloflex tires is them been slippery. In saying that how much tire pressure are you running in your vittoria tires?
i’d try the vittorias a few more times if you’ve only been on the boards a little while. just ride faster and relax more, that will make all the difference
i had some very old tubs on a wheelset i bought with a complete bike, and they were fine. rough them up a bit with some sandpaper if you can’t get to the outdoor velodrome.
but hey, if you can afford a coupla veloflex, grab them too, you’ll need them eventually and they’re meant to be sweet.
i take no responsibilty if you crash on your vittorias by the way!!! haha.
vittoria evo pista are by far the the most ‘grippy’ on a wooden track
you can crank 200+psi in them no worries
the only thing i dont like about them is the sidewall is exposed and unprotected so you have to be careful when putting the bike into the car… or take the wheels off and put them in bags
ive got 2x brand new ones in 22mm that i dont need if you are looking for some…
I took the Vittoria pista cs for a few hours around a concrete track then tried them at disc today and they were fine, I still do prefer the veloflex record so i may change to them down the track.
I also dropped the bike in at the store today to get built up but I’m still waiting on a package with my bars and stem, also found out that my stem and bar combo may be illegal for endurance events? what the rules on that? how far can you go in front of the axel?
