i bet nikcee is secretly pleased so he can practise dismounts. tradies will probs call the police
Only semi-related but I saw a deliveroo rider on CityLink last weekend. Earphones in, looking down at his phone while he crossed the merging zone of an on-ramp.
Darwin Award territory if you ask me.
I have this very post on here a while back, deliveroo riders, women on basket bikes, students the lot.
Either ride the footpath or take a parallel side street, itâs just crazy I would never even though I have every right too.
I did ride up hoddle a few times when I first moved here but not far and all pre 6am on a Saturday but now I know my way around better.
I saw one this arvo riding with an arm in a slingâŚ
The drag south down Punt Road from Richmond can be fun since itâs good for about 75ks an hour⌠not in peak hour obviously though
Yeah Iâve had fun on there pre-dawn before. I know cyclists have the right, but itâs f^&*ing stupid and honesty I think itâs selfish. Like as a driver I have the right to barrel down tiny side streets at 40km/h but I donât because itâs stupid. Anyway I think I have made my point.
I was driving along Merri Parade at the part where a bike path runs parallel.
And a guy still decided riding on the road with his toddler in the bike seat was a better option than the path.
The road is rather narrow, and even though I had no problem waiting behind while oncoming cars were coming, Iâm sure many others wouldnât, and would pass rather close to his handlebars trying to squeeze through the gaps.
Just ride on the path mate.
For those that know of him, Angry Green Ford Man got rear ended last night along Royal Pde. Split Rear bar, side panel damage. Couple of cop cars in attendance tooâŚ
I donât know of him but I feel like there are AGFM storiesâŚ?
Thought Iâd throw this up - Police looking for a bike thief targeting apartment garages:
This story was relayed to me by a friend.
Riding along La Trobe and a car came too close, saw that the driver was texting.
Pull up next to the car at the lights - Vic Police officer in full uniform.
Knock on the window and say âHey mate, were you texting and driving?â
Driver yells âI was on the fucking bluetooth, dickheadâ.
Respond âFull uniform, swearing and breaking the law. Real professionalâ.
Wasnât happy.
Deserves some kind of bravery award. Is there a VC for cyclists? I be afraid to say anything.
so i finally got around to looking into my insurance, seems AAMI do actually offer the best price for the highest agreed value (which is still way below what the car is worth IMO). tried another couple of âreputableâ insurance companies and all are slightly cheaper, but are way worse in terms of what theyâll actually insure it for as an âagreedâ price.
buying a good quality older car is apparently pretty shit when it comes to insurance coz the majority are in shit condition.
Absolute peak hour is the only time I would ride on Punt, as usually you can lane split the whole way and not disrupt the flow.
Otherwise, side streets 4eva!
Have you looked at Shannons or similar? Even RACV has a Classic insurance section that may be able to help you out depending on where you store the car and kmâs completed each year. You will probably pay a slight premium from these âboutiqueâ insurance companies.
didnât look at Shannons et al, moccos, have always found them to be more expensive in the past, so didnât check this time round.
iâve gotta ride from brunswick to docklands today, is royal parade still a clusterfuck? will ride past the zoo & under the citylink if it isâŚ?
clusterfuck for many more moons. like, yearsâŚ
cruisy bike path it is.
ta.
This is simply awful and I hope so much that itâs not someone from this community (or someone you know).
It shouldnât happen in the first place, but I still hope youâre all safe and those you know are all safe too.
^ Fucking hell.
Damn
