Am i the only one who loves fanging down sydney road NOBR AKES?

Man, what a great feeling.

it was raining last night. i rode home in the rain, and yet strangely received no epiphanies, experienced no catharsis. it just sucked. seems all the commuting / bike zines i read in the early 2000s lied to me.

i did, however, listen to catharsis. and that ruled.

unless you’re up for some solidarity, or enjoy having your grammar corrected, you may wanna steer clear of the city tomorrow.

today was a cracker of a day.

Tell Mr B̶a̶l̶l̶i̶e̶u̶ B̶a̶i̶l̶u̶e̶a̶ Ted he’s a dick: https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/general/change-the-world/93685/

Before 9am sucks, too many pot holes. After though, great fun.

Something I observed today was the amount of people who look left before right when checking the road, so many people blindly walking in to the bike lane (and traffic) on Smith St. I do not understand this at all.

Euro

but srsly:
look to the far lane to see if clear. if it’s clear, check near lane. if near lane is clear also, start walking. as you are walking across near lane, look to far lane again before center of road to make sure nothing has pulled out of driveway/sidestreet and will collect you.

the problem you mention is ppl start by stepping onto the road, which = bike lane most of the time.

Spotted them there again today booking a motorcyclist…will probably be there all week.

it’s cold.

My (sydney) ride this morning was 12 degrees! Had to bring out the knee warmers, sealskins, gore-tex etc.

Jokes, just chucked a windbreaker on.

fucken balmy.

Saw someone getting booked by the coppers the other night for riding down the tram tracks in one of the fenced off bits of swanston st

Plenty of anti-jaywalking action at the moment too. $61 fine apparently.

some stellar eyewear observed on the ride to work this morning… first fella was wearing ski goggles, second bloke was wearing some of these:

Strong look.

Nothing wrong with that.

was something happening in melbourne this evening that caused the traffic to be so heavy at 6.45pm? never seen it like that so late, and i’m regularly at work til 7. accident? footy? k o back from holiday?

possibly related to police shutting down west gate both directions because they busted a dude packing a cache of firearms in the boot.

Yeah, some idiot walked in front of a train (it’s beyond me how people keep doing this), and someone else hit a car on citylink and then said he had an explosive device in his car.

Melbourne jogger killed by train

Victoria Police Online News Centre - Man arrested on CityLink

yep, sounds like it.

this was posted at 6.57pm stating south bound was still closed.

thanks john!
