Cousin Balki's Melbourne Rant Thread.

blakey, quick as lightning!

that train link is from april…?

…try the veal

Was northbound on bolte last night. Had a bingle on my side. A motorbike in pieces and fuel tan

k about. 5 metres from bike. About 500 metres down the road everything south was fucked with a 4wd on its side and cops a plenty.

fuck I’m glad I ride to work

I’d suggest avoiding High St if you can. Heaps of road works and it gets pretty messy for space (between cars, trams and cyclists).

when you walk out of the northcote plaza north entrance at dusk, the birds always make a lot of noise. it’s kinda great.

one of the few things i miss about perth is riding my motorbike along the coast through cottesloe at sunset. the noise from the cockatoos in the trees is incredible. oh, and the smell of the pine cones they devour.

man, there used to be some cafe just opposite cottesloe that i used to go to a lot. i wanna call it tropicana, but i’m not sure on that - hell, it was 12 years ago now. paper tablecloths, crayons, boardgames and hipster waitstaff. sitting in that cafe, overlooking the beach and the water and the sky was probably my favourite thing about perth.

i may change the title of this thread to “perth observations”.

i know the one, on the corner opposite the north west corner of the golf course? opposite the surf club? that’s the exact spot i’m talkin about, where the birds are the loudest.

yeah! once i was there as a storm was rolling in, just as the sun was setting. was kinda incredible to watch.

perth has natural beauty over melbourne, no question.

yep. we used to drive to a favourite lookout on the coast, smoke ‘cigarettes’ and watch the storms roll in.

good times. unfortunately, natural beauty is not enough to keep me there.

y’know what rules? MELBOURNE!!! woooo

Jazz cigarettes?

maaaaayyyybe

plz b kareful rollie.

man I musta been at the wrong parties!!

Mainlining weed… hard core.

Weird Orgies, the best kind.

sex is weird anyway

on the way home today i saw a little kid trying to talk to a magpie. was rad.

then i bumped into my friends kieran and sarah. kieren was riding a bike that had originally belonged to his dad. one of his earliest memories, he told me, was sitting on a homemade seat bolted to the top tube, riding through the night as his dad pedaled and the dynamo light lit the way.

it has been a pretty good day.
