you see? it begins.
T7 has Racing Ralph and Fast Fred(700 x 35) for $25 each right now (folding kevlar bead). I figured if the tracks are smooth the Fast Fred will be a great option.
you have no idea how many CX tyres im sitting on right now… i found a few deals on ebay and elsewhere over summer and opted to experiment with a few other brands/treads.
the michellin jets have been awesome on the dry trails.
This is the funniest thing I have ever read on this forum.
Looks like the full gas cross racing series will be greatly expanded this year and they use mtba for there events if it push’s you over the fence in getting a mtba license.
fingers crossed I can get my new ride built for this
word on the street is that either a CA or MTBA (or BMXA) licence will be accepted at most major CX races this year… ![]()
Solid work, Nik.
Nice
^Just renewed my road license, $228… so painful. I liked that DD took road license instead of MTBA, because every race I squeak in under my CA license helps me justify buying an annual… I usually do 10+ crits per years so it’s usually a non-issue, but it all helps.
So who’s entered? After chatting with NikCee last night I’m looking forward to a FOA paceline.
Like this, but not nearly as annoying when we commentate:

Mad whip-skidz
I haven’t entered yet cos i wasn’t sure how many people were actually keen.
I am actually keen.
i went to enter y’day but realised they needed my MTBA # which i dont have.
im most certainly keen for this off-road adventure!
I thought that was a pic from the 50’s, until the ‘commentate’ comment, and I realized it was Sean Kelly!
myself and a non vegan bro are keen to attend also
I thought this was a lot sooner, now I think I’m keen… gonna have to start smashing k’s to keep up with you assholes.
fuck that, Sime. I’m up for a FOA team and to ride together. any heroes can ride on the front the whole way. I won’t complain.
I’ll be on the back ringin’ my bell, yelling “chiiiiiicks”
Sweet as. Although it sounds like an expensive social ride, I look forward to crossing swords with me mates in this race for the Dirty Gran Fondue.

It’s only an hour drive to the start, but I thought it might be cool to mix in some public transport, having never ridden a VLine before I did some research. Too bad the earliest train arrives at 7:58, queueing for the start is at 8 for the race, so while possible it doesn’t seem like a good option.
After seeing pics of Sime smashing it on the weekend at the Duael 6hr, I just had to enter this.
Entered.
