All true, but also consider that hydro discs will be
heavier
more expensive
more dork factor
massive brifter hoods that only increases the Fred factor
Difficult to get nice wheels for
…having said that I’d definitely consider it!

Spot on, pretty much what I’ve got 'ceptin mines a primate, not a kumo.
Sounds great.
I would highly recommend getting a custom steel fork with the frame, not carbon. So much more passion/soul
Nice one.
Option for fenders and/or fatter tyres is a solid decision for a steel bike.
You thinking braze-ons for a front rack?
I’d stick with caliper brakes as you can start with cheaper (Tektro or similar) then get Paul Racers down the track.
Thanks for the thread name change!
I will be chatting to Keith more about it next week over dinner to brainstorm a few ideas. Will be going a steel fork.
Inspiration.

^ Oh yes. One of these often pulls out of a side street on my way to work, I always give him a nod of appreciation.
yeah go for a steel fork, if you’re thinking racks, fenders, any weight load what so ever. Also could be a good idea to build in disc tabs for later consideration, that way you’re future proofing the bike.
Brake bosses AND disc tabs? On a custom?! UGGGGLY!!
Yeah nah. Just centre-pull bosses for Paul Racers.

Amirite
Yeh, Paul Racer Mediums. Do it.
Shit yeah,
I’m gonna print that up and tape it to the wall while I build your bike.
Also steel fork is non-negotiable!
Can you make my fork from sourdough?
there are removable brake bosses, so yeah why the hell not, if ezy is dropping some serious coin why not have tonnes of flexibility, thats what a good tourer/city/road/commute bike has.
Don’t forget this:
Strada Bianca « Hampsten Cycles
And perhaps this: (but with less tyre clearance)
Seven Cycles | Evergreen SL
Strada Bianca « Hampsten Cycles
Ohhh my. Thanks Al. You really were the brains behind Tool Time.
^^^
There is flexibility and there is redundancy.
I’d rather build a machine that does 1 or 2 things perfectly than 10 things badly
Can you please build in a coffee grinder.
YES.
also go couplers if you can?
If i had $ i would go a similar frame to my Salsa Casseroll with couplers and room for 32 or even 35s.
