Ezylee's Kustom Kumo Konsiderations

For sale: Hope Pro ii hubs (not evo) - silver and sound like angry beez. Selling due to not needing disc brakes.

I love this forum.

Sorry for starting a war.

Just be light an learn to brake properly, I don’t believe taht we have decents like those that have caused problems overseas.

Rode alpine on carbon clinchers last weekend.

^this.

If you ride down a mountain on a mountain bike, fitted with hydros and big rotors and brake like a n00b (ie don’t pulse your braking) you’ll run into all kinds of problems too. Disc brakes are by no means a silver bullet.

As for o’s query re crabon crabbies. The problem will/is being addressed with attention given to the rim’s braking surface… a 622mm rotor will deal with heat dissipation far more effectively than a 160mm rotor. Get it?!

But brakes yah-de-yadde, I wanna find out Liam’s invisaged HT/ST angles, BB, headtube length. Classic or modern compact? Will it be weird and wonderful, derpy derp or straight down the line?

Thats all up to me, we will know after his fit session next week

DON’T YOU HATE PANTS?!

this thread makes me think of homer for some reason

Rolly - can you please not try and derail my thread. Far out man.

oh, sorry, um, get um, yeah discs, coz tabs for future and, ummmmm, yeah carbon brake clinching…

#helping

next question…colour??

raw? fluoro? matte black? splatter? peacock nickel PVD ??!?!

Please see inspiration a couple of pages back.

Type 3’s Karmann’s are very nice… but Alfa Romeo Montreal’s from the 70’s had some pretty cool colours imo !!!

Good thing you’re thinking factory car colours though, much easier to get a correct paint code to replicate an exact colour. Same thing for Mrs. Spirito’s resto … but the colour was a little different to match

I have a pantone colour picker I could use, but VW is in my blood - it’s an obvious choice.

Are those pics from Auto Italia? Also, I am obviously no bike expert - but I think mrs spirito’s bike needs a saddle.

VW colour? Like an R32 colour - so fkn pimp. Trust me…… :stuck_out_tongue:

And I’ve just had this whole brake meltdown. Paul Racer mounts for 650x42C or discs and zero fuks given.

i thought this was $500 and was about to buy all of them.

Mrs. has a colour picker too but her eye is deadly. I always challenge her but when we doub le check & reference it’s almost always that she’s dead right about the pantone colour code she first guesses. Fkn designers !!!

Yeah, from a few years ago. I like seeing colours on cars because a) most bikes are painted with automotive paints and knowing the PPG code or OEM colour spec means the colour is easy to replicate and b) you get to see the colour on panels in daylight and driving past you and get a good feel for them.

You’ll probably agree with me but I think colour is more important that what most people sweat about with regard to materials, construction, function etc. I always pick or buy because of colour. Call me shallow, i think it’s as good a theory as any: if you like the colour, you’ll like the bike.

Colour is emotive #passion

PPG paint codes are you friend.

Whichever colour you choose, please dump a lot of metallic powder in. More Keith Anderson than Kalavinka.

I can’t really see this. Some people will want disc brakes on their roadie, others won’t. Have steel bikes disappeared because of carbon bikes? No, some people still want them. When CDs came in the death of vinyl and cassettes was predicted, and it didn’t happen either (comparing bikes and records is a bit of a stretch, I know, but that’s what came to my mind)

Awesome colour. Reminds me of the Embrocation Team Igleheart CX frames.

EzyLee’s visual design skills X Keith’s bike design skills = good eye times coming…

I’m excited to see where this goes.

Had a look through all the car colours to try & match it … I thought it was gonna be Lamborghini Miura Lime (but that was too lime) then found the closest car colour was by Hyundai and it’s called Funny Yellow. $12 later we had a pressure spray pack for the exact colour and it was backyardin’ job time.
