I say we turn up at 8 and drink coffee til it’s dry enough to ride. Madly keen to do this ride - shit week.
Not a bad plan. I’m very keen to ride.
Rule 5 old man…
A mugaccino of HTFU?
I’m set. Got home from work tonight and parked the car half way in the garage with the headlights on so I could finish off the Capo.
Touring spec is beater wheels with freewheel, 49/17 gearing, front and rear brakes and duel bottle holders. Came in at 8.4kg.
Shit thing is, I flattened the car battery using the headlights in the garage, and I couldn’t push it uphill into the garage. So now its in someone else’s car space with the cord for the batt charger running from the laundry across to the other side of the carpark and under my bonnet. Aaaand thats where she’s staying till the morning.
I’ll be at Bourke St by 8

Epic ride! I came in at just over 72km to our final destination, not including transit to and from pub and trains etc. Jonno you made the right choice to stay home, I think it would have killed you. It nearly killed me and I am of semi-sound body. Props to Nath for doing it single speed, and Keirin for hanging in there and not giving up.
Also, Rod your new bike is awesome and I’m glad you finally got it.
80 km… 24.5kph av speed 78.3km/h best speed…
it was an epic rapha gear ride, wet roads the whole way
big props to rhys for finding his descending pace, big props to ‘pain master chin’ for gapping every one on every climb… rod for riding his first road bike so far and so hard.
