Yesterday I rode in rain for an hour with my SealSkinz shoe covers. The part of them covering my shoes is great, but the bit around the ankle is too wide and lets water in. It’s not like I’ve got skinny ankles either.
I don’t think even the biggest Velotoze will fit over my size 49 wide MTB shoes.
Oh well, wet sock is better than puddle in a shoe.
Their chart says XL goes to a 49, id say worth a go.
Im using a Medium which by their chart says covers a 42.5. My privateers are a 43 and they fit no worries. The bigger gaps in the sole make it easier to stretch on i reckon
My wet socks have always ended in a puddle in my shoes, even with other shoe covers on. No wet socks even with the Velotoze
tore my velotoze
only got a handfull of rides as Perths wet season takes off
not happy jan.
funnily enough i was looking at some gripgrab stuff on CRC yesterday!
think they’ll work with mtb shoes? ie Giro Privateers?
I feel like nothing really comes close to velotoze in terms of water protection though?
For MTB check out the RaceAqua X (we have those here too)
Otherwise look at the new versions of Arctic or RaceThermo which are the no-zip style.
Those are 6 & 4mm neoprene respectively so perhaps warmer then you need in sunny Perth?
i need water protection rather than warmth, definitely not cold enough. Just want to stay dry!
