Are the Cell’s still the go to bike for people on a budget?
Edit: Budget is around $500. Willing to spend a lil more if it nets me a better bike with better components.

Yes.
He’s right, I’m still amazed by them and wish I’d started on one of those.
nice bike
anyone knows where to get Aerospoke?
oh dude, just shut up now.
try the internet. or a shop.
check your PM’s man before a less patient mod bans you.
wowww easy dude, its been hard to find one set in sydney…
i think the forum made for helping or sharing not asking to shut up…
cheers mate!
cool
it isn’t made, however, for idiots to troll every thread with comments like ‘nice bike’ on the first day they join.
Following up the question about the Cell bikes for beginners.
Would you recommend say, a 2nd hand KHS Flite or Schiwnn Madison for a hundred or so more than a brand new Cell Mallet?
Yes. I recently built up a KHS frameset and it is rad. A very upgradeable bike, much moreso than the cell. Schwinn is also ok, but a but heavier than the KHS I think.
I’d agree with this too. If you can get a better bike for not much more cash, go for it.
i’d def go for the KHS.
Ughhhhh missed out on a Flite 100.
Back to the drawing board. I’m thinking of just buying new and hoping to grab a bargain at around $700.
I really love the look of the Fuji Feather. Are there any other bikes similar to this style in that price range? Schwinn Madison looks nice, but hear they are heavy.
Edit: Hey again guys, I’ve come across the following at the price range I’m at:
Kona Paddy Wagon
Fuji Feather
SE Lager
Masi Speciale
Giant Bowery
Which would be your choice and why? I think the Giant is out already because it uses an alloy frame.
But with the others, what would you say?
Alloy is terrible on the street, trust a man who spent a lot of coin on his fuji track pro.
The Kona or the masi are the two on your list worth buying.
Lies
the cell mallet2 and mallet360 are on sale for $349 today
+1 on alloy being a harsh ride on the street. Oh_lol from that list the Kona and Masi would be my picks.
try 25s @ 85-95 psi and your opinion will change. yeah you’ll complain about how it feels sluggish to get rolling for a day or so and then you wont notice the difference (there isnt much and you spend much more time rolling than starting), but you will notice how much nicer the bike feels.
