I’ll be there. I’m hoping it is muddy, but that the bmx track isn’t used. That thick sand/fine gravel makes me a little nervous.
Woooooot!!! - raced Syca and had a ball as always - greasy mud led to a couple of front wheel washouts and plenty of two- wheel slides. Had my Small Block 8s on (well they’re the only tyres I’ve got) and they are definately not a mud tyre. But at 30psi they worked OK

The course was great at Sycacross yesterday. Very heavy in places, some deep water and some improvements on round 1. I lost a bolt out of one of my cleats 6 laps in and pulled out. It was cool to race in some ‘Belgian-type’ conditions.
yep racing yesterday was fun, course was better than the first round but i think it need some more work on the course. bike got super heavy from all the mud with like 10 mins in it was a day to have a pit bike. also i was running a single speed as i broke my chain right at the start of the day.
Yep thats the plan to race the National round here in 3 weeks - better get out and get dirty a bit more before then!
Are many FOA peeps planning on racing the national championships on August 10?
I’m keen to race the course, but I’m a mid-level B-grade rider (read: hack) and I don’t know whether I’m likely to get in the way in the 30+ masters category, or just end up riding off the back on my own for the whole race. A few riders at a similar level definitely makes racing more fun.
I’m guessing that Cycling Australia would be keen to see all the categories filled.
i too am umming and ahhing, is there much point in me donning a costume just to be pulled 20 mins in?
I reckon a costume would get you pulled at 0 minutes in!
